Gemcitabine/nab-Paclitaxel versus FOLFIRINOX for palliative first-line treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer: A propensity score analysis.
Jakob M. Riedl,Florian Posch,Lena Horvath,Antonia Gantschnigg,Felix Renneberg,Esther Schwarzenbacher,Florian Moik,Dominik A. Barth,Christopher Rossmann,Michael Stotz,Renate Schaberl-Moser,Martin Pichler,Herbert Stöger,Richard Greil,Angela Djanani,Konstantin Schlick,Armin Gerger +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative propensity score (PS) analysis of overall (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in a tri-centre cohort of patients with aPDAC undergoing palliative first-line treatment with either Gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel (GN) or FOLFIRINOX was conducted.

Multigene methylation analysis of enriched circulating tumor cells associates with poor progression-free survival in metastatic breast cancer patients
Theresa Benezeder,Verena Tiran,Alexandra A.N. Treitler,Christoph Suppan,Christopher Rossmann,Herbert Stoeger,Richard J. Cote,Ram H. Datar,Marija Balic,Nadia Dandachi +9 more
TL;DR: It is reported that multigene methylation analysis of enriched CTCs provides prognostic information in metastatic breast cancer patients, for the first time, in a prospective proof-of-principle study.

Patterns of venous thromboembolism risk in patients with localized colorectal cancer undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy or active surveillance: an observational cohort study
Jakob M. Riedl,Florian Posch,Angelika Bezan,Joanna Szkandera,Maria Anna Smolle,Thomas Winder,Christopher Rossmann,Renate Schaberl-Moser,Martin Pichler,Martin Pichler,Michael Stotz,Herbert Stöger,Armin Gerger +12 more
TL;DR: Venous thromoboembolism risk is very low in localized CRC and does not appear to be increased by adjuvant chemotherapy, and primary thromboprophylaxis is unlikely to result in clinical benefit in this population.
T-regulatory cells predict clinical outcome in soft tissue sarcoma patients: a clinico-pathological study.
Maria Anna Smolle,Laurin Herbsthofer,Barbara Granegger,Mark Goda,Iva Brcic,Marko Bergovec,Susanne Scheipl,Barbara Prietl,Martin Pichler,Armin Gerger,Christopher Rossmann,Jakob M. Riedl,Martina Tomberger,Pablo López-García,Amin El-Heliebi,Andreas Leithner,Bernadette Liegl-Atzwanger,Joanna Szkandera +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed TILs and immune checkpoint molecules in soft tissue sarcomas, and assessed their prognostic impact regarding local recurrence, distant metastasis (DM), and overall survival (OS).

Genetic profiling of putative breast cancer stem cells from malignant pleural effusions.
Verena Tiran,Stefanie Stanzer,Ellen Heitzer,Michael Meilinger,Christopher Rossmann,Sigurd Lax,Oleksiy Tsybrovskyy,Nadia Dandachi,Marija Balic +8 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that pleural effusions are a suitable source for enrichment of putative cancer stem cell properties, however, sequencing based molecular characterization is impeded due to insufficient sensitivity along with a high number of normal contaminating cells, which are masking genetic alterations of rare cancer (stem) cells.
