Disclosed are adhesives and processes for preparing the same, comprising at least one first homogeneous ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer, and optionally at least one tackifier, and optionally at least one plasticizer. The claimed adhesives are useful as adhesives such as are employed in various applications, such as in masking tape, clear office tape, labels, decals, bandages, decorative and protective sheets (such as shelf and drawer liners), floor tiles, sanitary napkin/incontinence device placement strips, sun control films, the joining of gaskets to automobile windows, packaging, bookbinding, construction of nonwoven articles, and insulation bonding.

Disclosed is a polarizer protective film having high heat resistance, high transparency, high optical characteristics and high mechanical strength, which can be formed thin and is excellent in adhesion to a polarizer. Also disclosed is a polarizing plate using such a polarizer protective film and a polarizer. This polarizing plate has high adhesion between the polarizer protective film and the polarizer, while being excellent in optical characteristics and heating/humidification durability. Further disclosed is a high-quality image display using such a polarizing plate. Specifically disclosed is a polarizer protective film which contains an acrylic resin having a specific acrylate structure unit and a specific cyclic structure unit.

A hot melt adhesive composition comprising a) from about 5 wt.% to about 50 wt.% of at least one homogeneous linear or substantially linear ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer characterized as having a density from 0.850 to 0.965 g/cm3; b) from about 1 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of at least one block copolymer; and c) from about 10 wt.% to about 75 wt.% of at least one tackifying resin wherein said adhesive does not fail cohesively.

A surface protection sheet including a base layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer which have been formed by coextrusion. The surface protection sheet has satisfactory suitability for unwinding from a roll, etc., and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a smooth surface and satisfactory adhesion to rough surfaces, is free from release ingredient transfer thereto, and hence poses no problem concerning contamination. The surface protection sheet comprises: a base layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one side of the base layer; and a back treatment layer formed on the other side and comprising a polyethylene resin. The surface protection sheet is characterized in that the base layer, pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and back treatment layer have been integrally formed by coextrusion molding and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains a noncrystalline polyolefin elastomer in an amount of 50 wt. % or larger.

An elastic laminate capable of being rolled for storage and unwound from a roll when needed for use, includes an elastic layer selected from the group consisting of an array of continuous filament strands, an array of continuous filament strands with meltblown deposited on the continuous filament strands, and a film; a gatherable facing layer bonded to only one side of the elastic layer; and either an adhesive that demonstrates a relatively short open time deposited between the elastic layer and facing layer, or such adhesive and a postbonding adhesive or nonblocking agent, or a nonblocking agent layer deposited on the elastic layer on a side opposite to the facing layer.

An adhesive resin composition comprising a polymer of a radically polymerizable epoxy resin (I) and a monomer (c), the radically polymerizable epoxy resin (I) being a reaction product between an epoxy resin (a) and a radically polymerizable monomer (b) having a function group reactive to epoxy group or hydroxyl group in said epoxy resin (a), having an equivalent ratio (b)/(a)=0.01˜0.9 and said monomer (c) being copolymerizable with said radically polymerizable epoxy resin (I) and containing alkyl (meth)acrylate and/or a fluorine-containing unsaturated monomer serving as an indispensable component. The adhesive resin composition has an excellent adhesion between fluorine-contained resins and metal substrates.
