Effects of alloying on the behavior of B and S at Sigma 5 (210) grain boundary in gamma-Fe
TL;DR: In this article, the atomic scale understanding of impurities induced intergranular embrittlement or enhancement and the control of these effects on austenitic stainless steels was investigated by performing density functional theory (DFT).

Effects of alloying on oxidation and dissolution corrosion of the surface of γ-Fe(111): a DFT study.
TL;DR: Effects of alloying elements in popular steels on the oxidation and dissolution corrosion of the surface of γ-Fe(111) have been investigated by performing density functional theory calculations within the local density approximation.

- 07 Jan 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for extracting composite educt from heat-resisting austenitic stainless steel at a normal temperature, aiming at the problems of high difficulty and low speed of extraction of educt.

DFT study of the effects of interstitial impurities on the resistance of Cr-doped γ-Fe(111) surface dissolution corrosion
TL;DR: The aim of this work was to study the effects of N and C on the segregation behavior of Cr and the synergetic effect between co-doped atoms on the resistance to dissolution corrosion of austenitic stainless steel surfaces, and showed that interstitial impurities prefer to be trapped at near-surface sites, which can impact the segregationbehavior of Cr such that it shifts from the surface to the subsurface.
