Autonomous concrete crack detection using deep fully convolutional neural network
Cao Vu Dung,Le Duc Anh +1 more
TL;DR: A crack detection method based on deep fully convolutional network (FCN) for semantic segmentation on concrete crack images and it was found that cracks are reasonably detected and crack density is also accurately evaluated.

Investigations on the Effect of Weld Penetration on Fatigue Strength of Rib-to-Deck Welded Joints in Orthotropic Steel Decks
TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of 100% penetration on improving the fatigue strength of rib-to-deck welded joints in orthotropic steel bridge decks was evaluated using full-scale orthotropic deck specimens.
A vision-based method for crack detection in gusset plate welded joints of steel bridges using deep convolutional neural networks
TL;DR: A robust method for crack detection using the concept of transfer learning as an alternative to training an original neural network is developed and transfer learning methods using the output features of VGG16 achieved both improved accuracy and robustness and are recommended for training a crack classifier.
Numerical Simulation of Output Response of PVDF Sensor Attached on a Cantilever Beam Subjected to Impact Loading
Cao Vu Dung,Eiichi Sasaki +1 more
TL;DR: PVDF sensors exhibit excellent sensing capability for in-plane dynamic strain induced by impact loading, and there is good agreement between the PVDF sensor’s output voltage predicted by the numerical simulation and that obtained in the impact tests.
