Seed and Root Endophytic Fungi in a Range Expanding and a Related Plant Species
Stefan Geisen,Olga Kostenko,Mark C. Cnossen,Freddy C. ten Hooven,Branko Vreš,Wim H. van der Putten +5 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the community composition of fungal endophytes not only differs between related plant species but also between populations of plants that expand their range compared to their native habitat.

Latitudinal variation in soil nematode communities under climate warming-related range-expanding and native plants.
Rutger A. Wilschut,Stefan Geisen,Henk Martens,Olga Kostenko,Mattias de Hollander,Freddy C. ten Hooven,Carolin Weser,L. Basten Snoek,Janneke Bloem,Danka Caković,Tatjana Čelik,Kadri Koorem,Nikos Krigas,Marta Manrubia,Kelly S. Ramirez,Maria A. Tsiafouli,Branko Vreš,Wim H. van der Putten +17 more
TL;DR: Examination of nematode communities in the rhizospheres of four range‐expanding and four congeneric native species along a 2,000 km latitudinal transect from South‐Eastern to North‐Western Europe concludes that variation in Nematode community composition with increasing latitude occurs for both range‐Expanding and native plant species and that some range-expanding plant species may become released from root‐feeding nematodes in the new range.
Determinants of Within-Patch Microdistribution and Movements of Endangered Butterfly Coenonympha Oedippus (Fabricius, 1787) (Nymphalidae: Satyrinae)
TL;DR: In the case of near continuous distribution of host plants within a patch, the structure of herb vegetation appears to be the major determinant of adult microdistribution and affects the dynamics of butterfly emergence and the selection of oviposition sites.
Resilience of rhizosphere microbial predators and their prey communities after an extreme heat event
TL;DR: Bacterial community resistance and resilience after the extreme heat event were independent of predator presence, although species‐specific effects of predators on bacterial community resilience were different in the last week of recovery.

The Association Drepanoclado Uncinati-Heliospermetum Pusilli (Arabidetalia Caeruleae, Thlaspietea Rotundifolii) in the Trnovski Gozd Plateau (Slovenia, NW Dinaric Mts)
Boštjan Surina,Branko Vreš +1 more
TL;DR: A new geographical variant Paederota lutea from the Trnovski gozd plateau are described, which are on the north-westernmost part of the distribution area of the Dinaric alliance Salicion retusae.
