Emptying the rectum before treatment delivery limits the variations of rectal dose - volume parameters during 3DCRT of prostate cancer.
Michele Stasi,Fernando Munoz,Claudio Fiorino,Massimo Pasquino,Barbara Baiotto,Piergiorgio Marini,Giuseppe Malinverni,Riccardo Valdagni,Pietro Gabriele +8 more
TL;DR: The practice of carefully emptying the rectum during simulation and therapy for prostate cancer, which is a safe and simple procedure, reduces the impact of organ motion on dose - volume parameters of the rectal volume.

Radio hyperthermia for re-treatment of superficial tumours.
Pietro Gabriele,Teresa Ferrara,Barbara Baiotto,Elisabetta Garibaldi,P.G. Marini,G. Penduzzu,V. Giovannini,F. Bardati,Caterina Guiot +8 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that radio-hyperthermia is useful in re-irradiation with a very high patient compliance and early response, size of lesions ≤3 cm, T max ≥42°C and RT doses ≥40 Gy were predictive outcome factors.

Irradiation of pacemakers and cardio-defibrillators in patients submitted to radiotherapy: a clinical experience.
Teresa Ferrara,Barbara Baiotto,Giuseppe Malinverni,Nicola Caria,Elisabetta Garibaldi,Gilberto Barboni,Michele Stasi,Pietro Gabriele +7 more
TL;DR: This study confirms the safety of radiotherapy for patients implanted with pacemakers or implantable cardioverter-defibrillators but suggests that chemoradiation represents a probable risk factor for cardiac toxicity.
Laparotomy wound recurrence of endometrial carcinoma.
TL;DR: Larotomy wound recurrence (LWR) for endometrial cancer usually appears as a solitary mass that grows slowly without concomitant failure sites a few years after hysterectomy, but in these six patients there is no common histology pattern that could suggest predictive factors for LWR.

Dosimetric characterization of a multileaf collimator
TL;DR: The MLC is better than conventional cerrobend blocks both to improve the treatment reproducibility and accuracy, and relative to dosimetric characteristics like dose transmission and skin dose, and the use of MLC to modulate beam fluence (IMRT) will permit to modify beam intensity for improved shaping of the treated volume.
