A permeable reactive filter wall is constructed by connecting connection elements/adapters (3a) of a filter train to intermediate elements/further filter trains. Each filter train consists of a pre-fabricated drain module (1) with defined perforations over a whole or half a side. Each module is filled with a reactive material, and connected relatively moveable via connectors on the outside, to the intermediate elements. This creates an integral wall system. A filter train can be removed from the system without endangering its stability.
