Powerful terahertz emission from Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta mesa arrays
Timothy Benseman,Kenneth E. Gray,A. E. Koshelev,W. K. Kwok,Ulrich Welp,Hidetoshi Minami,Kazuo Kadowaki,Takashi Yamamoto +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that multiple stacks patterned on the same Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta crystal can be synchronized to emit high-power terahertz-radiation.

Direct imaging of hot spots in Bi_{2}Sr_{2}CaCu_{2}O_{8+\delta} mesa terahertz sources
Timothy Benseman,A. E. Koshelev,W. K. Kwok,Ulrich Welp,Vitalii Vlasko-Vlasov,Kazuo Kadowaki,Hidetoshi Minami,Chiharu Watanabe +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the temperature distribution at the surface of BSCCO stacks utilizing the temperature-dependent 612nm fluorescence line of Eu^{3+} in a europium chelate was investigated.
Effect of disorder in MgB 2 thin films
Maria Iavarone,R. di Capua,A. E. Koshelev,W. K. Kwok,F. Chiarella,R. Vaglio,Won Nam Kang,Eun-Mi Choi,Hwayong Kim,S.-I. Lee,Alexej Pogrebnyakov,Joan M. Redwing,X. X. Xi +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on scanning tunneling spectroscopy studies of magnesium diboride (MgB) thin films grown by different techniques and find that the superconducting gap associated with the $\ensuremath{\sigma}$ band decreases almost linearly with decreasing critical temperature.

Vortex-chain phases in layered superconductors
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the structure of a single chain in the presence of in-plane magnetic field and found two types of behavior: (i) in the range of $0.4 and 0.5$ a small $c$-axis field first penetrates in the form of pancake-stack chains located on Josephson vortices.
