TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the data and methods required for developing a Shelter Blast and Fire Vulnerability Data System (SVDS) for determining the blast and fire vulnerability of fallout shelters by using available building data and existing vulnerability models.
Abstract: : The study investigates the data and methods required for developing a Shelter Blast and Fire Vulnerability Data System. The objective is to develop an inexpensive method of determining the blast and fire vulnerability of fallout shelters by using available building data and existing vulnerability models. Numerous sources of structural data are examined including computerized listings of specifications of fallout shelter facilities, various types of maps, and aerial photography. A methodology is developed and procedures are specified for converting the data available in these source documents to suitable indicators of blast and fire vulnerability.
TL;DR: The study of children who are vulnerable to the development of psychopathology in adulthood and an emergent strategy for acquiring knowledge about etiology are focused on.
Abstract: The goal of primary prevention of psychiatric disorder is a laudatory one, which unfortunately can not be realized in the absence of scientific knowledge about etiology. This paper focuses on an emergent strategy for acquiring such knowledge: the study of children who are vulnerable to the development of psychopathology in adulthood.
