Abstract: A system and method for adult URL pre-screening. A URL request made by a child on a first computer is received by a gatekeeper. The gatekeeper compares the requested URL to URL entries in an approved URL table. If the requested URL is found in the approved URL table, permission is granted for enabling the child on the first computer to browse a Web page associated with the requested URL. If the requested URL is not found in the approved URL table, the gatekeeper accesses the Web page associated with the requested URL, generates a thumbnail of the Web page, and alerts a parent/guardian operating the second computer via an alert icon. The parent/guardian may view the thumbnail of the Web page by placing their mouse over the alert icon. The thumbnail includes a set of approval options from which to allow the parent/guardian to approve or deny access of the Web page for the child on the first computer to browse.

Abstract: An Internet contents providing service control method using a redirection technique and a control system therefor are provided. A redirection system is disposed between an intermediary's web server and a contents provider's web server. In response to a request from a user computer, the redirection system, instead of the intermediary web server, collects HTML documents provided by the contents provider web server, converts a relative path URL of contents (a variety of form tags, search CGI, images, icons, etc.) contained in the HTML documents into an absolute path URL, and when necessary, further executes additional conversion so that the HTML documents are reconstructed. In addition, the redirection system converts all form tags and hyperlink tags in the HTML documents so that the redirection agent of the redirection system is marked and then transmits to the user computer. By doing so, while the redirection system continuously retains the control right over is the web service of the contents provider web server for the user computer, the contents delivery service is provided.

Abstract: The invention dynamically produces alternate referrer pages substantially similar to pages previously viewed, through a web browser, by a visitor who linked to a target web page via a link on the previously viewed pages. When the browser links to the target page, a referrer URL is obtained for the referrer page from which the browser loaded the target page. The referrer URL is stored in a queue. The queue is inspected regularly. If the queue contains an unexamined entry, a request for that entry's referrer URL is executed to obtain the alternate referrer pages. The IP address of the computer running the browser is used to derive a country code corresponding to the IP address. The referrer URL request can be issued through a computer in a geographic region corresponding to the country code so that geographic biasing of the previously viewed pages will be reflected in the alternate pages.

Each device in the cluster is identified by a unique Universal Resource Locator (“URL”). However, only the cluster commander is required to have an IP address. The cluster commander redirects and translates configuration and management requests from the Web browser on the management station so that requests are processed by the appropriate device in the cluster. The exchange of information between the Web browser on the management station and the devices in a cluster is accomplished via redirection of HTTP GET and POST methods. This provides a consistent, device-independent interface between the device and the Web browser on the management station.

Abstract: This invention provides a URL management system and URL management server that is able to reduce the inconvenience that arises when the URL of a web site is changed. The system comprises a web site server 20 containing the content of a web site, a URL management server 30 that associates the URL of the web site with an intermediate URL corresponding thereto and a search server 40 that associates information regarding the content of the web site with the intermediate URL. The search server 40 sends out the intermediate URL in response to a request from a search based on the information, and the URL management server 30 converts the access destination to the URL of the web site in response to an access request made using the intermediate URL. Thereby, even in the case in which the URL of a web site is changed, there is no need to change the content registered in each search engine.

From the converted image information, URL region information is obtained indicating a print region in which a URL anchor corresponding to the extracted hyperlinked URL is located on the printed web page. Location information input through a location input unit corresponding to the printed image information is compared with the URL region information to select an extracted hyperlinked URL corresponding to the input location information. The selected extracted hyperlinked URL is provided to the web browser so that corresponding web page information is obtained, thereby obtaining other web pages hyperlinked to the printed web page.
