TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to prevent a battery from being consumed uselessly by interrupting the power supply of a drive amplifier for woofer so as to stop the unrequired power supply during communication in the case of communication via a mobile equipment main body.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a battery from being consumed uselessly by interrupting the power supply of a drive amplifier for woofer so as to stop the unrequired power supply during communication in the case of communication via a mobile equipment main body. CONSTITUTION: A connection means connecting the mobile equipment main body to an audio equipment in the transmission/reception state of the mobile equipment main body and connecting the received voice so as to be outputted from the speaker of the audio equipment, and the cut means cutting off the power supply of the drive amplifier for the woofer during communication via the mobile equipment main body, are provided. The voice is reproduced in the 2-way speaker for audio equipment by using only the tweeter in the transmission/reception mode of the mobile equipment main body. Thus, the power consumed in the amplifier for the woofer is cut off by interrupting the power supply for the woofer in reproducing the voice. Thus, the overall power consumption is suppressed. TL;DR: In this paper, a tweeter with a light, thin sandwich plate which can be excited into multiple reflected bending waves, and a driver which makes a vibrating contact and excites the sandwich plate, where the driver is designed for higher sound frequencies and the plate for propagating bending waves with low damping.
Abstract: A tweeter with a light, thin sandwich plate which can be excited into multiple reflected bending waves, and a driver which makes a vibrating contact and excites the sandwich plate, where the driver is designed for higher sound frequencies and the sandwich plate for propagating bending waves with low damping. The sandwich plate is freely carried with low damping by holding elements, where the latter are designed to be low damping at higher sound frequencies.
TL;DR: In this article, a compound speaker system consisting of a woofer, a squawker, a tweeter, and a super tweeter is designed to rotate within the cone of the woofer.
Abstract: A compound speaker system comprising a woofer (1), a squawker (7), a tweeter (8), and a super tweeter (9). The squawker (7), the tweeter (8), and the super tweeter (9) are attached to a plate (22) and the assembly is rotatably positioned within the cone (1c) of the woofer (1). Since the squawker (7), the tweeter (8), and the super tweeter (9) are positioned at different distances from the axis of the assembly rotation, it is possible to design the system such that the speaker which reproduces relatively directional sound, such the tweeter (8) or the super tweeter (9) takes an elevated position as compared to the squawker (7) when the assembly is rotated within the woofer cone.
TL;DR: In this paper, a flexible compressible tube having a woofer mounted at one end with its cone directed outward, and a vented baffle mounted at the other end is used to form a stereo speaker system.
Abstract: A loudspeaker system includes a flexible compressible tube having a woofer mounted at one end with its cone directed outward, and a vented baffle mounted at the other end. A first sound dispersion element is mounted with its apex facing the cone of the woofer and a midrange speaker is mounted in the base of the dispersion element with its cone facing away from the tube. A second sound dispersion element is mounted with its apex facing the cone of the midrange speaker, and at least one tweeter is mounted on the base of the second sound dispersion element with its cone facing away from the tube. According to one embodiment, a plurality of tweeters are mounted in an enclosure mounted on the base of the second dispersion element. According to another embodiment, a single tweeter is mounted in the base of the second dispersion element and a third dispersion element is mounted with its apex facing the cone of the tweeter. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, a pair of tubes are coupled to each other at their baffles to form a stereo speaker system. A fabric sleeve having a graphic display which may include an advertisement fits over the tubes. In order to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the speaker system and to protect the speakers from the environment, a fabric covering is optionally provided over the speakers and dispersion elements.
TL;DR: A grille is attached to a woofer, and a tweeter is further mounted on the grille to mutually face the woofer and be at least partially disposed in a cavity defined by the tweeter and grille as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A grille is attached to a woofer, and a tweeter is further mounted on the grille to mutually face the woofer and be at least partially disposed in a cavity defined by the woofer and grille to define a compact loudspeaker structure. The grille and a back of the tweeter face an environment to which sound is to be directed, and both contain structures and are arranged to allow sound from the tweeter and woofer to communicate with the environment, while resisting water from contaminating the woofer and tweeter. Further, the rim of the grille and a frame define a component storage space in which elements which constitute a dividing network or other discrete electronic components of the loudspeaker are housed.
