Abstract: A device and method for producing Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) scaling of S-Parameter Touchstone files for the generation of ISI scaling effects on serial data patterns by direct digital synthesis is described. The features of the present invention allow user to set parameters such as data rate, voltage amplitude, encoding scheme etc. as per requirements for the serial data patterns. An ISI scaling value is selected and applied to an S-Parameter Touchstone file representing transmission path effects. The serial data pattern parameters and the ISI scaling value used with the S-Parameter Touchstone file are compiled to generate a digital data waveform record file. The digital waveform record file is applied to a waveform generation circuit for converting the digital data into an analog serial data pattern with ISI scaling effects.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) scaling on an S-parameter touchstone file to generate ISI scaling to a serial data pattern generated by direct digital synthesis. SOLUTION: A user sets a data rate required for a serial data pattern, a voltage amplitude, and a parameter sheet like an encoding system via a user interface of a signal generating apparatus. An ISI scaling value is selected and applied to the S-parameter touchstone file indicating a transmission path. A serial data pattern parameter and the ISI scaling value used together with the S-parameter touchstone file are compiled to generate a digital data waveform recording file. Digital data is converted into an analog serial data pattern accompanied by an ISI scaling effect by adding the digital data waveform recording file to a waveform generating circuit. Abstract: The present invention proves a system and method for Simulating Hspice compatible equivalent circuits. The system includes a data obtaining module, a parameter checking module, a function generation module, and an equivalent circuit generation module. The system and method can obtain N-ports circuit data in a Touchstone file format specification from a storage system, and extract S-parameters from the N-ports circuit data. In addition, the system and method can prevent the passivity of each S-parameter by performing an interpolation function, and simulates a Hspice compatible equivalent circuit by using a vector fitting function.
