TL;DR: The drum mallets disclosed are adjustable, by the percussion player, as to weight and/or balance and/ or head characteristics, so as to vary the "feel" of the mallet, and thus also the tonal effect obtainable when playing upon kettle-drums, snare-drum, and other percussion instruments.
TL;DR: The overhead involved in the real-time multiprocessor execution of parallel-processable segments of a sequential program is investigated and a technique is developed to efficiently interpret this table in a system in which a number of identical processors share a common memory.
Abstract: The overhead involved in the real-time multiprocessor execution of parallel-processable segments of a sequential program is investigated. The execution follows a preprocessing phase in which the source program is analyzed and the parallel-processable segments are recognized. A number of representations of a parallel-processable program are possible. A table representation is used, and a technique is developed to efficiently interpret this table in a system in which a number of identical processors share a common memory.

TL;DR: This method, presented here using J-K master-slave flip-flops, allows a straightforward synthesis from the transition table or the transition diagram without using any intermediate step.
Abstract: A systematic method for the synthesis of sequential machines by means of given memory elements is described. This method, presented here using J-K master-slave flip-flops, allows a straightforward synthesis from the transition table or the transition diagram. Examination of the table or diagram leads directly to the Boolean equations of J and K inputs without using any intermediate step.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the C.P. 2001 Site Investigations Table 1 of the Building Regulations 1972 Table to Regulation D7 (Table 2) as a reference for identifying the rock or soil on which the foundation will be built.
Abstract: In order to use the knowledge available of its general characteristics it is essential to identify the rock or soil on which the foundation will be built. So that we all speak the same technical language, soils have been classified into groups. This standard classification differs from that used by the geologist because the requirements of the engineer are very different. The latter needs simple means of field identification and a guide to strength related to structural characteristics. These are given in Table 1 of C.P. 2001 Site Investigations (reproduced by permission of the British Standards Institution) (Table 1). There is also a simplified version in the Building Regulations 1972 Table to Regulation D7 (Table 2) but the C.P. table is the best reference.
TL;DR: The input-output table is a very convenient means of combining a huge mass of heterogeneous statistical data into a coherent whole such that the structural relationships underlying the economy can be analysed as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The input-output table is a very convenient means of combining a huge mass of heterogeneous statistical data into a coherent whole such that the structural relationships underlying the economy can be analysed. The table has three constituents viz. intersectoral transactions; final demand vectors, and value added row.

Abstract: Recently developed computer programs have greatly enhanced the application of decision analysis, especially in accounting for risk and uncertainty factors. Monte Carlo simulation and decision tree programs are now available from a wide variety of sources for both batch and time-sharing. The major programs, their features and capabilities, are summarized here. A table showing cost, computer requirements and where and how to obtain further information, is also included.

Abstract: A METHOD is given for estimating the quality (skill) of the experts preparing the initial material for the solution of diagnostic and recognition problems. The method is constructed by variation of the parameters describing the representability of the material introduced by the experts.
TL;DR: There have been a number of scoring tables which have been developed for track and field to compare performances (via a point score) between the different events, a higher score indicating a better performance.
Abstract: There have been a number of scoring tables which have been developed for track and field. The purpose of these tables is to compare performances (via a point score) between the different events, a higher score indicating a better performance. Historically, the scoring table was introduced as a necessity for the 1912 Olympic Games where the first decathlon was staged. Here, the scoring table provided a method to evaluate the best overall athlete in the 10 events of the competition.
TL;DR: A table of indices exhibits a Fibonacci relation, where each entry is the sum of the two preceding ones modulo 109, under specific conditions related to the quantity x, which must satisfy a particular relation.
Abstract: It is noteworthy from the early entries of the table that each succeeding entry is the sum of the two that precede it. This relation can be verified for the entire table if the sums are taken modulo 109. Clearly this is an unusual situation for a table of this kind. The questions that come to mind are: Is this something very extraordinary? Under what conditions does a table of this type have this Fibonacci property? Since the entries in the table are residues of successive powers of some quantity x, the conditions that must be fulfilled are two: (1) x must satisfy the relation
