TL;DR: In this article, a periodic surface filter consisting of at least one element at a surface of the filter and electronic controls to change the optical characteristics of the element is described and discussed.
Abstract: Generally and in one form of the invention this is a periodic surface filter comprising at least one element at a surface of the filter and electronic controls to change the optical characteristics of the element. Other methods and devices are disclosed.
TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-flow filter module is coupled to a cyclone postseparator to separate the aggregates leaving the filter, and the results show that the cake is detached in the form of loose agglomerates rather than individual particles, which are easily collected by means of the cyclone.
TL;DR: In this paper, a filtering apparatus for indicating the degree of exhaustion of an ad-sorption filter is presented. But the authors do not consider the use of a pressure meter to measure the difference in pressure between a point downstream and a point upstream of the filter.
Abstract: A filtering apparatus for indicating the degree of exhaustion of an adsorption filter which includes a mechanical filter and a pressure meter for detecting the difference in pressure between a point downstream and a point upstream of the mechanical filter to provide an indication of the degree of exhaustion of the adsorption filter. The mechanical filter may be an internal type filter or a surface filter and it may be either series-connected or connected in shunt with the flow path of the adsorption filter.
TL;DR: A horizontal compression type automatic filter press for filtering and squeezing slurry through an endless filter cloth, comprises filter plate open and close means for opening and closing all of filter plates simultaneously, diaphragms each having a main portion, which is secured to a movable filter plate, being thicker than the periphery of the diaphrasm secured to the stationary filter plate and double surface filter plates each providing a filtration resistance difference between opposite surfaces thereof as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A horizontal compression type automatic filter press for filtering and squeezing slurry through an endless filter cloth, comprises filter plate open and close means for opening and closing all of filter plates simultaneously, diaphragms each having a main portion, which is secured to a movable filter plate, being thicker than the periphery of the diaphragm secured to a stationary filter plate, double surface filter plates each providing a filtration resistance difference between opposite surfaces thereof, filter cloth transfer means having two sets of rollers arranged one above the other, the diameter of the one set of rollers above arranged being smaller than that of the other set of rollers. The filter press according to the invention accomplishes minimization of water content of filter cakes obtained by the press and remarkably high average filtering rates and achieves full automatic operation and shortening of the overall length of the press.
