TL;DR: In this article, a coextruded thermoplastic film and the employment of such multi-layer film as stretch-wrap material for packaging of goods, including relatively large palletized loads of material.
Abstract: This present invention relates to novel coextruded thermoplastic film and the employment of such multi-layer film as stretch-wrap material for packaging of goods, including relatively large palletized loads of material. More specifically, such coextruded stretch-wrap films comprise three-layer laminations having a relatively thin skin layer and a relatively thicker core layer. Suitable skin layers include highly-branched low-density polyethylene, and suitable core layers include linear low-density polyethylene co-polymers, such as ethylene co-polymerized with a minor amount of at least one C 4 to C 10 alpha-olefin, such as octene-1 and 4-methyl-pentene-1, and butene-1.
TL;DR: In this paper, an improved polyolefin cling/slip stretch wrap films having superior load retention, elongation, tear resistance and puncture resistance properties and for the methods of using those stretch-wrap films are presented.
Abstract: The present invention provides for improved polyolefin cling/slip stretch wrap films having superior load retention, elongation, tear resistance and puncture resistance properties and for the methods of using those stretch wrap films. The stretch wrap films are preferably constructed in a multilayer fashion having an outside cling layer, an outside slip layer, at least one inside puncture resistant layer comprising a metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin, and at least one inside transverse direction tear resistant layer.
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for producing an internally reinforced aeolotropic thermoplastic film web through coextrusion of two polymeric materials, and more particularly a method of forming a film web possessing an enhanced tensile strength in at least the longitudinal or machine direction of the film web is presented.
Abstract: A method for producing an internally reinforced aeolotropic thermoplastic film web through coextrusion of two polymeric materials, and more particularly, a method of forming a film web possessing an enhanced tensile strength in at least the longitudinal or machine direction of the film web. A plastic film having internal striplike reinforcements entirely embedded within a matrix material is formed by the inventive method, and such film is utilized for various articles; for instance, plastic bags, bag components such as handles by liners, stretch wrap film, and the like.
TL;DR: A stretch wrap film having one-sided cling comprising a thermoplastic A/B film structure is defined in this article, where layer A in stretched condition has a comparatively high cling force to layer B and layer B has at least substantially no cling forces to a layer of itself.

TL;DR: In this paper, a stretch wrap film was adapted for processing into stretch wrap, which comprises between about 40 and about 90% by weight of a high molecular weight copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate and having a melt index of between about 0.1 and about 4.0.
Abstract: A composition adapted for processing into stretch wrap film. The composition comprises between about 40 and about 90% by weight of a high molecular weight copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate containing between about 4 and about 25% by weight of repeating units derived from vinyl acetate and having a melt index of between about 0.1 and about 4.0. The composition further comprises between about 8 and about 55% by weight of a linear copolymer of ethylene and a higher alkene. Such linear copolymer has a specific gravity of between about 0.917 and about 0.945. The invention further includes stretch wrap film, a method of producing stretch wrap film of differential cling properties, and a composite film constituted of a layer of the aforesaid ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and a layer of the linear copolymer of ethylene and a higher alkene.
