TL;DR: The second part of a formal taxonomical treatment of the fossil pulmonates from Sandelzhausen is presented, dealing with the superfamilies Succineoidea, Testacelloidea and HelicoideA, and including the description of a new hygromiid species.
Abstract: Sandelzhausen is an Early/Middle Miocene (Mammal Neogene zone MN5) fossil site near Mainburg, S Germany, and despite its small size it harbors a rich fossil record. Hundreds of fossil continental mollusks, almost exclusively pulmonates snails, were recovered during the excavations, but never received due attention by researchers. Here, the second part of a formal taxonomical treatment of the fossil pulmonates from Sandelzhausen is presented, dealing with the superfamilies Succineoidea, Testacelloidea and Helicoidea, and including the description of a new hygromiid species. The following species were found in the material: Succinea minima (Succineidae); Palaeoglandina sp. (Spiraxidae); Testacella zellii (Testacellidae); Klikia cf. coarctata (Elonidae); Cepaea cf. eversa, Cepaea cf. sylvestrina and Tropidomphalus cf. incrassatus (Helicidae); ?Helicodonta sp. and Helicodontidae indet. (Helicodontidae); Leucochroopsis kleinii and Urticicola perchtae sp. nov. (Hygromiidae).
TL;DR: Los caracoles terrestres de la region oriental de San Luis Potosi, Mexico posee una gran variacion topografica y climatica y la Sierra Madre Oriental posee el mayor numero de especies en the region.
Abstract: The land snails of the eastern region of San Luis Potosi, Mexico were surveyed (June, 1995 - August, 1996). This region has much topographic and climatic variation. Samples (161) were obtained in 48 localities. The main zoogeographic groups of were the endemic (32.18%: 28 species and three subspecies) and the neotropical (27.59%: 24 species and five subspecies) gastropods. The family Spiraxidae has the largest number of endemic species ( 16). The Eastern Sierra Madre has the 1argest number of species in the region
TL;DR: Thirty three genera, 81 species and 14 subspecies of terrestrial gastropods belonging to 23 families are recorded for the southern region of the state of Nuevo Leon and those species with the greatest distribution are Gastrocopta pellucida and Pupisoma discoricola insigne.
Abstract: Forty three genera, 81 species and 14 subspecies of terrestrial gastropods belonging to 23 families are recorded for the southern region of the state of Nuevo Leon. Eighteen species are new records. The families with the largest number of species are the Spiraxidae (16), Urocoptidae (9) and Pupillidae (8). Those species with the greatest distribution are Gastrocopta pellucida and Pupisoma discoricola insigne. Eighty six species of terrestrial gastropods for the state of Nuevo Leon are recorded.
TL;DR: The Spiraxidae subfamilies and the Spiraxinae genera are redefined and four species of land snails are described from Costa Rica and Panama.
Abstract: Four species of land snails are described from Costa Rica and Panama. Two are new species and two have remained poorly known since their first discovery. A fifth species from Mexico and Guatemala is illustrated for comparative purposes because it has not been figured since 1877, and previous figures of it are inadequate for comparative purposes. The Spiraxidae subfamilies and the Spiraxinae genera are redefined.
