TL;DR: In this paper, an information processing system for creating a search data for an application specific data is proposed, where an application processing section inputs or edits data on the basis of an application program.
Abstract: An information processing system for creating a search data for an application-specific data is proposed. An application processing section inputs or edits data on the basis of an application program. An application-specific data storage section stores the application-specific data input or edited by the application processing section. A search data is created by a search data creating section for searching the application-specific data stored in the application-specific data storage section for a specific data. The search data creating section also creates a correspondence between the search data and the application-specific data. A search data storage section stores the search data created by the search data creating section. A correspondence storage section stores the correspondence between the search data and the application-specific data. Further, a data output section connected to and shared by a plurality of data input or editing units including the application processing section and the search data creating section. The search data creating section creates the search data from the application-specific data sent from the application processing section to the data output section.

TL;DR: In this paper, a binder file maintains the order of binder document sections and the native file format of each section, and the ordered sections can be viewed and edited through a viewport of a frame displayed by a Binder program module.
Abstract: Ordered binder document sections having different file formats stored within a binder file. The binder file maintains the order of binder document sections and the native file format of each section. The ordered sections can be viewed and edited through a viewport of a frame displayed by a binder program module. By selecting graphical images displayed in a selection area of the frame the content of a binder document section can be viewed and edited without viewing the content of other binder document sections. The graphical images can be icons or graphical images derived from the content of sections called thumbnail images. A thumbnail image can be derived from either the first page or from multiple pages of an individual section. The binder program module can also dispatch the underlying application program modules that created each binder document section to print, spell check, and grammar check the binder document sections as a single data processing task. In this manner, selected sections of a binder document can be printed as a single consecutively printed document without having other print jobs interrupting or intervening between printed sections of the binder document.

TL;DR: In this article, the reconciliation of corresponding groupings of data for processing by application programs ("sections") which are contained within files ("documents") is performed using history lists, which is performed by using the history lists to compare versions of corresponding sections in order to determine which section has been modified.
Abstract: Reconciliation of corresponding groupings of data for processing by application programs ("sections") which are contained within files ("documents") is performed using history lists. In particular, a section in one document which corresponds to a section in another document is reconciled. Each section has a history list which identifies versions of that section. The reconciliation is performed by using the history lists to compare versions of corresponding sections in order to determine which section has been modified. When one of the corresponding sections has been modified and the other has not been modified, the unmodified section is modified with the other section. When both sections have been modified, then the user is provided with options for reconciling the sections. In addition, when one document has a new section which is not in the other document, the new section is added to the other document.

TL;DR: In this paper, a document editing apparatus by which a hand-written inputted editing operation can be reflected on a document without deterioration of the efficiency in editing operation is presented. But it does not specify the editing operation recognition procedure.
Abstract: The invention provides a document editing apparatus by which a hand-written inputted editing operation can be reflected on a document without deterioration of the efficiency in editing operation. Editing operations recognized by an editing operation recognition section based on locus data, that is, information hand-written inputted using a locus data inputting section, are stored once into an editing operation storage section. Each time an editing operation is inputted, an editing operation which satisfies a determination condition stored in a determination condition storage section is searched from among the editing operations stored in the editing operation storage section by a determination section. Then, only the editing operation thus searched out is reflected on the document by a document editing section.

TL;DR: In this paper, the system control section searches Japanese sentences stored in a first language sentence storage section to find one of them most similar to a combination of one or more words output from the speech recognition section.
Abstract: A translation apparatus and a translation method arranged to facilitate the operation of inputting a speech and to obtain a correct translation. When a speech in Japanese is input to a microphone by a user, it is recognized in a speech recognition section and one or more words constituting the speech are output to a system control section. The system control section searches Japanese sentences stored in a first language sentence storage section to find one of them most similar to a combination of one or more words output from the speech recognition section. The Japanese sentence thereby found is output through an output section. If this Japanese sentence is correct, the user operates one of control keys. The system control section then searches English sentences stored in a second language sentence storage section to find one of them corresponding to a translation of the Japanese sentence output as a search result, and outputs the English sentence thereby found through the output section.

TL;DR: The Law and Practice of the United Nations provides a comprehensive legal analysis of membership, structure, functions, and acts of the United Nations organs. It traces the history of the organization through its practice and includes an extensive bibliography.
Abstract: This book aims to provide a comprehensive legal analysis of problems concerning membership, the structure of the United Nations organs, their functions and their acts taking into consideration the text of the Charter, its historical origins, and, particularly, the practice of the organs. One of the aims of the book is to trace precisely the `story' of the United Nations from its birth through an analysis of the practice. Moreover, since the Charter has never undergone any substantive modifications, one cannot exclude that what may appear to be old and obsolete today could become of current interest in the future. This volume is the up-to-date English version of the fifth edition of an Italian textbook on the United Nations which was first published in 1971. An extensive bibliography conveniently precedes every section in each of the chapters, which is of substantial value to anyone studying the United Nations.
