TL;DR: This chapter discusses DAVID project and discusses influence diagram processing system for the Macintosh, a directed graph representation for uncertainties as probabilities for probabilistic models.
Abstract: Influence diagrams are a directed graph representation for uncertainties as probabilities. The graph distinguishes between those variables which are under the control of a decision maker (decisions, shown as rectangles) and those which are not (chances, shown as ovals), as well as explicitly denoting a goal for solution (value, shown as a rounded rectangle.

Abstract: A generalized Hough transform is used to acquire and track vehicular targets for missile guidance. This is accomplished by recognizing that most vehicles have silhouettes that may be described as a “rounded rectangle”. The position and shape of such rounded rectangles is described in terms of 5 parameters (xc, yc, a, b, θ) where xc, yc are the center coordinates, a,b are the major and minor axis and Θ is the orientation. The computation of a five dimensional Hough transform on an image including such a target will produce the five parameters that provide the “best fit” rounded rectangle to the target. These parameters are then passed to a missile tracker. This capability can be used to improve track gate handoff from the automatic target recognizer (ATR) to the missile tracker, changing aspect ratios of maneuvering targets, limited lock-on after launch (LOAL), aimpoint designation and fire control system to missile seeker handover.
TL;DR: In this article, the position of an object (e.g., a part of a body or an optionally coloured object being manipulated by a user) is established within a frame, e.g. an image frame, for example by the acquisition of images.
Abstract: The position of an object (11, 12), such as a part of a body or an optionally coloured object being manipulated by a user, is established within a frame, e.g. an image frame, for example by the acquisition of images. The shape (e.g. an ellipse or rounded rectangle) of the field of movement (16) of the object is defined and a bounding rectangle defines the shape of the field of movement. A coordinate from within the object is mapped to the bounding rectangle, then the coordinate is mapped from the bounding rectangle to the image frame, which may be a rectangle. The coordinate is then snapped from the image frame to the target, e.g. a monitor screen. The coordinate (11', 12') may be displayed on a computer monitor (15) as an icon. The foregoing may provide a user interactive game capable of training and monitoring motor and cognitive skills of a patient, e.g. hand motion trajectory or range.
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of thermal parameters including the deformation temperature, shape recovery temperature, and heating rate on the shape recovery of a specific rounded rectangle structure were investigated. But the shape was not considered.
