Abstract: The invention discloses a system and method for integrating user interfaces (UI) within an application. The invention can be configured to display an UI of a second application within a first application in a manner that the user cannot identify that the second application's UI is displayed on top of a reference window within the first application. The invention can be configured to identify a reference window that is to be replaced by a replacement window of the second application, monitor the reference window, create the replacement window, and align the replacement window over top of the reference window.

Abstract: A portable and removable window exhaust system for home appliances requiring outdoor venting (such as portable laundry dryer) which obviates the necessity of permanent installation and piercing an exterior wall of a building to vent the appliance to the outdoors. The main part of the system, the exhauster, is incorporated in a replacement window panel consisting of two transparent perimetrally reinforced sheets of clear transparent plastic, and forms an integral part of one of said window panels. The said exhauster is movable within the window replacement panel and, when in closed position, will not protrude from the outside of the window replacement part, giving appearance of regular closed window. Moreover, in the open position, the exhauster resembles a protective hood equipped with inter-connected spaced ribs forming a grill at the bottom edges of said exhauster, which perform as an exhaust outlet. Nevertheless, even when the exhauster is manually pushed into an open position, the replacement window insert remains tightly closed and the only functional opening at the rear of the exhauster is the one in a neck-like shape to which the flexible hose is connected. In consequence, the conventional flapper, of shutter, is eliminated and, since the said grill offers only a negligible resistance to the passage of the exhausted air, the load on the dryer electric motor is smaller, resulting in saving of electrical energy while in use.

Abstract: A set of replacement system window controls is provided that are instantiated as the result of the receipt of create control messages into the system message queue, instead of the built-in system window controls. The replacement window controls result in replacement control instances being created with modified properties based on user preferences. The replacement system window control instances may also include an overlay function. In response to a set focus message, a replacement control instance may create an overlay control that is displayed over the replacement control. The overlay control itself can have modified properties and may be enlarged or relocated. When the overlay control receives a release focus message, the overlay control passes its state back to the replacement control and is destroyed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus controls network bandwidth between a first node and a second node on a network. A data element transmitted from the first node to the second node is intercepted. The data element comprises a data portion and a header portion including an original window size. The original window size in the header portion of the data element is replaced with a replacement window size, the data portion of the data element remaining unmodified. The data element is then routed to the second node, the header portion of the data element being coupled to the replacement window size.
