Abstract: A customized advertising repository server is connected on the World Wide Web (WWW), which can be accessed by a registered user through his or her browser either by clicking on an icon, or by inputting the specific URL address of the particular server which stores that user's advertising repository When the user accesses his or her customized ad repository through the browser, a composite advertising page is dynamically configured by the Customized Advertising Repository (CAR) server for that particular user based on that user's previously provided user profile Furthermore, at least a portion of that composite advertising page can be dynamically configured on a context dependent basis determined from the particular Web site or sites that the user has accessed prior to accessing the CAR The dynamically configured composite page or pages of advertising provided to the user may contain plural static images, streaming banners, 3-D images, animation, video and/or audio clips, using any of the technologies available on the Web for presenting textual and/or visual information Such a composite page or pages is configured from a database which stores such images, banners, animation, etc, from plural advertisers The customized page is created by selecting from among a storehouse of plural different subscribing advertisers and their associated banner ads, images, etc, those particular images, etc that will be elements of the customized page based on the user's specific areas of interest as determined from the profile, and/or the context dependency From such dynamically configured composite page or pages, the user can then click on a particular image, video window, banner, etc, to retrieve, through a hyperlink, further information directly from the selected advertiser's own Web site or mirror Web site

Abstract: A unified messaging solution and services platform is provided by utilizing the features and capabilities associated with instant messaging to locate a registered user, query the user for a proposed message disposition, and coordinate services among a plurality of communication devices, modes, and channels. A user proxy is registered to the user as a personal communication services platform. The user is able to define various rules for responding to received data and communications, the rules stored within a rules database servicing the communication services platform. Instant messaging is used for communications between the user and the communication services platform's user proxy.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for facilitating a value exchange transaction involving multiple parties. The system may comprise a synchronization server for exchanging transaction details with client devices, a communication server for registering new users, a financial server for interacting with external financial institutions, and a security server for ensuring the security of value exchange transactions. In one method, a first party initiates a transaction on a client (e.g., a mobile computing device) by selecting or inputting an identifier (which may be pre-existing, such as a telephone number) of another party and a value to be exchanged. The transaction may be conducted while the parties' client devices are electronically connected or may be conducted by one user on one device. Transactions are communicated to a system server during a synchronization between a party's client device and a system server. When the transaction is submitted to the system, if the second party is not a registered user of the system he or she is invited to register and complete the transaction.

Abstract: A system and method for providing users with granular control over arbitrary information that allows for selective, real-time information sharing in a communications network such as the Internet is provided. In a network including a plurality of network devices operated by a plurality of users, a real-time information exchange system for sharing user profile information between respective users includes a database management system connected to the network. The database management system, which may be distributed across the network, stores the user profile information for a plurality of registered users of the information exchange system. The user profile information includes a plurality of data elements, each data element having an associated one of the plurality of registered users. Each data element has an associated group of users to whom access to the data element has been granted, and users not included in the associated group of users are denied access to the data element. Each registered user may selectively control the granting and denying of access to each of its associated data elements by other respective user, on an element-by-element, and user-by-user basis. Further, each registered user may dynamically create its own data fields.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for constructing and transmitting an executable software module on a personal information server to a remote computer. The software module is constructed such that once received by a browser displaying a form, it is executed and user data is automatically inserted into an electronic form. The software module contains field names from a downloaded form and matching data items which are inserted into the form on the remote user computer. A method for constructing a shippable software module on a personal information server suitable for execution on a remote computer for inserting data strings into an electronic form is described. A form mapping containing a set of associations between fields in the electronic form ('non-standard fields') and pre-named fields ('standard fields') on the personal information server is retrieved. Each mapping is associated with a registered electronic form. A raw data file containing data strings, each data string corresponding to a pre-named field is retrieved. Each raw data file is associated with a registered user. The form mapping is utilized to attach a data string to the field in the electronic form where the pre-named field and the field in the electronic form have been previously matched or mapped.
