TL;DR: A case of giant rectal lipoma measuring 11.5 cm in size is presented with review of the literature and it is shown that colonic lipoma exceeding 8.5% of the population has not been reported previously.
Abstract: Colonic lipomas are rare benign tumors usually occurring in the ascending colon. We present here a case of giant rectal lipoma measuring 11.5 cm in size with review of the literature. To the best of our knowledge, colonic lipoma exceeding 8.5 cm in size has not been reported previously.
TL;DR: A colo-colonic intussusception is reported in a 73-year-old man with an intraluminal rectal lipoma as the leading point with chronic abdominal pain and obstructive symptoms.
TL;DR: The paper describes an additional case of a prolapsing rectal mass that led to diagnosis and surgical treatment of a rectal lipoma under local anesthesia.
Abstract: Submucosal lipomas of the large bowel are uncommon. Occasionally, they occur in the rectum and may cause aspecific symptoms; presentation with rectal prolapse is very unusual and may lead to a misdiagnosis of simple mucosal prolapse. The paper describes an additional case of a prolapsing rectal mass that led to diagnosis and surgical treatment of a rectal lipoma under local anesthesia.
TL;DR: A patient with upper rectal intussusception caused by a giant rectal lipoma is described, who suffered from repeated bloody stools and underwent laparoscopic segmental resection of the rectum with preservation of the left colic artery with LCA preservation.
