TL;DR: In this article, a siding board attachment structure is proposed in which a plurality of siding boards or external wall members are secured to a structural body of a building with securing members in a rabbet joint manner.
Abstract: This invention provides a siding boards attachment structure excellent in external appearance, weather resistance and construction efficiency in which a plurality of siding boards or external wall members are secured to a structural body of a building with securing members in a rabbet joint manner. The securing member is secured to the structural body in a state in which an upper side lower-ledge formed at an upper edge of the external wall member to be disposed at an internal side is engaged with a lower side upper-ledge formed at a lower edge of the external wall member to be disposed at an external side. A cut end portion is secured to the structural body with an end portion securing member.
TL;DR: In this paper, a wall panel consisting of two laminar units each including a core layer of particulate, sintered, aluminum oxide, a perforated metal shell enveloping the layer, and a continuous mass consisting essentially of elastomeric material enveloping a shell and extending into the layer through the perforations of the shell.
Abstract: A wall panel consisting of two laminar units each including a core layer of particulate, sintered, aluminum oxide, a perforated metal shell enveloping the layer, and a continuous mass consisting essentially of elastomeric material enveloping the shell and extending into the layer through the perforations of the shell. The mass bonds the particles in the layer to each other and to the shell, and the two masses constitute a unitary body connecting the shells in a position in which the core layer of one unit projects beyond the core layer of the other unit so as to define a rabbet. Two such panels may engage each other in a rabbet joint in which the projecting core layer parts are spacedly superimposed on each other to provide a burglar resistant connection between the panels which themselves are difficult to penetrate by burglar's tools.
TL;DR: In this paper, the assembly from which it is constructed has a header and a jamb and a means to attach them together at a corner of the metal frame, and a rail slot extends through a width of the corresponding first stop and thicknesses of the first soffit and the first rabbet.
Abstract: A metallic frame and the assembly from which it is constructed has a header and a jamb and a means to attach them together at a corner of the metal frame. The header and the jamb each have a soffit disposed inwardly from a rabbet and a stop extending substantially perpendicular to and between the rabbet and the soffit. One of either the header or jamb has terminal ends of a first soffit, a first stop, and a first rabbet that generally lie in the same plane with a first corner edge. A rail slot extends through a width of the corresponding first stop and thicknesses of the first soffit and the first rabbet. The other of the header and a jambs has track formed along a second rabbet between a terminal end of a second rabbet and a terminal end of a second stop and second soffit which are cut back and spaced a distance from the terminal end of the second rabbet such that the track and the rail slot are slidingly engageable.
TL;DR: In this paper, the bearing blower profile is determined according to a thermodynamic model of the system, and the bearing load can be maintained by controlling the blower according to an optimized profile.
Abstract: During a standard fired shutdown of a turbine, a loaded rabbet joint between the fourth stage wheel and the aft shaft of the machine can become unloaded causing a gap to occur due to a thermal mismatch at the rabbet joint with the bearing blower turned on. An open or unloaded rabbet could cause the parts to move relative to each other and therefore cause the rotor to lose balance. If the bearing blower is turned off during a shutdown, the forward air/oil seal temperature may exceed maximum design practice criterion due to “soak-back.” An air/oil seal temperature above the established maximum design limits could cause a bearing fire to occur, with catastrophic consequences to the machine. By controlling the bearing blower according to an optimized blower profile, the rabbet load can be maintained, and the air/oil seal temperature can be maintained below the established limits. A blower profile is determined according to a thermodynamic model of the system.
TL;DR: In this article, a cutting tool for cutting a rabbet along the edge of a board material for constructing a Rabbet joint which includes a body or holder is presented. But the body positions a cutting blade in two slots defined by the body.
Abstract: A cutting tool for cutting a rabbet along the edge of a board material for constructing a rabbet joint which includes a body or holder. The body positions a cutting blade in two slots defined by the body. The blade is positioned in the slots so that the edge of a panel can be cut in one slot and the surface of the panel can be cut in the other slot to form a rabbet along the edge of the panel.
