Abstract: The high demand for land to be built on, makes the price of land more expensive. Various efforts were made to get land to build houses on, one of them was by way of coastal reclamation. The pond area initially functioned as a water catchment area, but later became new land through the reclamation process. This will have adverse impacts on the environment such as flooding due to lack of water storage. To overcome the problem of building in the coastal area without reclaiming, is using floating house. A floating house is a building structure that floats on the water surface by leaning to drowned area weight as the weight parameter which the structure could handle. This research is done to analyze the material platform. PVC pipe is used with floating force (Fa) parameter and cost plan analysis. The structure weight analysis total result is 555,887.5 Newton. The floating force of structure platform is 648.792 Newton. The connection system is a bolt connection system that us 3 cm in diameter with an anchor of length 22 cm, and a total of 4 bolts on each connection. Cost plan analysis using PVC pipe costs IDR 379.500.000,00.

Abstract: In the present research an attempt has been made to replace some part of fine aggregate (sand) by an industrial waste, the industrial waste under investigation is produced when the PVC pipes are cut into the desired sizes, it is a very thin flaky substance having a specific gravity of 1.5.This material is very voluminous in nature, so it reduces the workability of concrete if used in large percentage. So this material cannot be used in very large quantities but it can successfully replace sand up to 20 percent when used in pavement blocks. Experimentation was done at a water-cement ratio ranging from 0.43-0.35.Compressive strength of the concrete has been evaluated at 7 days, 14 days 21 days and 28 days. Results of the investigation indicate that compressive strength of the concrete decreases as the percentage of PVC waste material increases.7 day strength of the concrete has varied from 35.55 MPa to 70.01 MPa and 28 day strength has varied from 56.7 MPa to 76 MPa. Water absorption was well within the limits and varied from 4.67% to 7.26% by mass. The results revealed that this waste material can satisfactorily replace sand in small amount also it is a great way to dispose of the waste and hence is a step forward in the quest for a greener concrete.

Abstract: Presented studies covered determination of minor pressure losses and values of minor loss coefficients for two selected installation valves: water control globe valve and angle valve, both DN 15. The tested valves were installed on three pipes, including PP 20x3.4 mm, PEX-Al-PEX 16x2.0 mm and Cu 15x1.0 mm. In order to reflect the real operating conditions of the angle valve, the elastic PVC pipe was used. Our researches were performed on the laboratory installation, for the variable flow rate. The obtained results of laboratory studies showed the clear dependence between minor pressure loss and minor loss coefficients of studied valves, and water flow rate (Reynolds number), degree of valves’ closure and, in some cases, manner of valves installation and material of pipes. The greatest values of minor pressure loss coefficients, of mean values relevantly statistically grater, were determined for the tested valves installed on the PEX-Al-PEX pipeline.

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the investigation of a possible working principle of a microwave sensor for the measurement of water levels in plastic pipes. According to the research, most current sensors for water level measurement require an unobstructed path from the sensor in the water and therefore, the integrity of the pipes, in which water flows, will be compromised. The proposed sensor will work at microwave frequencies to measure the flow in the pipes from the outside. This would be non-invasive and non-intrusive. A beam of microwave energy from an antenna is directed towards a water surface within a pipe and the reflection due to the surface of the water will be isolated and knowledge of the pipe dimensions and properties will allow the depth of water to be calculated. Knowledge of the pipe drop may also allow flow to be estimated. It is observed that at microwave frequencies the reflection from the surface of the water is many times greater than the reflection from the surface of a typical plastic pipe.
