Abstract: The test results of six reinforced concrete moderate deep beams with embedded PVC pipes are reported. The tests studied the effect of installation of PVC pipe on behavior of reinforced concrete moderate deep beams. The test parameters were the diameters and locations of the pipes. The dimensions of beams were 1000 mm length, 150 mm width and 300mm depth. One beam was constructed without pipe as control and the remaining five had embedded pipes. Four pipe diameters were used: 25.4, 50.8, 76.2, and 101.6 mm and these pipes were inserted longitudinally either at the center of the beams or near the tension reinforcement. The beams were simply supported and tested under central concentrated load up to failure. The test results indicated that, the pipe diameter less than 1/3 of the beam width had limited effect on the capacity and rigidity of beam. For larger pipes, the ultimate strength of beams decreased between 16.7% and 33.3% and the beams stiffness decreased between 103% and 297%.

According to the preparation and application methods, after being prepared, the polyvinyl chloride lining pipe can be made into pipes of which the cross-sections are C-shaped, U-shaped or H-shaped pipe and the like, the pipes are wound on a reel; during the use, the pipes can be preheated and conveniently be removed from the reel and the pipes can be radially expanded at a high temperature to restore circular cross-section and can maintain the expanded size after the pipes are cooled. Abstract: The invention discloses a preparation method of a heat-fusible modified polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. The preparation method is characterized in that the pipe is prepared by mixing 100 parts by weight of PVC resin, 1.5-6.0 parts by weight of a plasticizer, 0.5-4.0 parts by weight of an activator, 3.0-8.0 parts by weight of a toughening agent, 4-10 parts by weight of an impact modifier, 1 part by weight of barium stearate, 0.5 part by weight of an ultraviolet absorber, 2-6 parts by weight of a stabilizer and 1.0-5.0 parts by weight of epoxy resin, stirring, mixing and then extruding for molding. Compared with the prior art, by adopting the preparation method disclosed by the invention, heat-fusible welding is realized, the use of a flare and an adhesive in butting construction of PVC pipes is eliminated, and the production and construction cost is reduced by about 20-30%; and furthermore, the pipe has good impact resistance, high tensile strength, long service life, high welding strength and firm connection, and is particularly suitable for butting of the PVC pipes in trenchless engineering construction.

Abstract: In Japan, the main irrigation pipeline network is increasingly getting older and losing its function due to deterioration. The concept of in-situ rehabilitation for aging pipelines, which can improve the performance of a damaged pipe by installing new pipeline inside of the existing aging pipeline, has gained increasing attention. However, the seismic mechanical behavior of pipeline rehabilitated by this method is not substantially clear. In this study, to clarify the effect of damaged outer pipe on the inner pipe, shaking table tests were conducted for the buried pipe in liquefied ground. To model the inner pipe, polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) and polyethylene (PE) pipe were used. To model the outer aging pipe, different types of concrete pipes in length were used. The test results indicated that the amplitude of the bending strain in PVC pipe sharply increased due to the stress concentration at the gap between outer pipes. Additionally, the deflection mode of the pipe was categorized into two main types; bow-shaped deformation and pendulum-shaped deformation.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a formula and a preparation method of an anticorrosion and flame-retardant pipe plastic, wherein the components comprise, by mass, 25-45 parts of a PVCS-700 resin, 17-25 parts of a composite thermal stabilizer, 3-15 parts of melamine, 6-12 parts of modified polystyrene, 1-5 parts of nanometer calcium carbonate, 3-8 parts of a processing aid, and 2-3 parts of chlorinated polyethylene. According to the present invention, with the prepared anticorrosion and flame-retardant pipe, the processing compatibility problem of the novel heat resistance modifier modified PVCS-700 resin is solved, the use temperature of the PVC pipe is increased, the processing performance is optimized, the processing cost of the PVC pipe is reduced, and the processing efficiency of the product is increased; and the pipe melting at the high temperature can be effectively avoided, the corrosion resistance of PVC is excellent so as to effectively avoid the problem of easy explosion inside the mine road due to the high temperature and the high corrosion is effectively avoided, the safe performance is increased, and the excellent construction characteristics are provided in various mine road conditions.
