Abstract: The genus Phylloxylon in the tribe Indigofereae (Leguminosae -Papilionoideae) is reassessed as comprising seven species, all confined to Madagascar. A key to the genus is given, three new species are described P. phillipsonii, P. spinosa and P. arenicola all from N Madagascar and lacking the typical cladodinous stems of the other species and two new combinations, P. xiphoclada and P. xylophylloides are made.
