Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for controlling a pilot and a main injection with intermediate injection pause, in which a first control section (2) with a control piston (12) triggering the pilot injection is arranged in a pressure line (7) connecting the fuel injection pump (8) and the injection nozzle (9), which control piston is effectively connected to a separate second control section (3) controlling the injection pause quantity, the injection pause quantity determined by the pause piston (24) of the second control section (3) being stored or cut back on the low pressure side.
