TL;DR: Hesperandra Arigony and Hesperandra (Zikandra) Santos-Silva, 2003 become junior synonyms of Parandra Latreille, 1802, and Gnathophorus Kirby, 1837 is also confi rmed as a synonym of this genus.
Abstract: Attelabus glaber (DeGeer, 1774) currently the type species of Hesperandra (Zikandra) Santos-Silva, 2003 is considered the type species of Parandra Latreille, 1802 (here validated). Hesperandra Arigony, 1977 and Hesperandra (Zikandra) become junior synonyms of Parandra Latreille, 1802, and Gnathophorus Kirby, 1837 is also confi rmed as a synonym of this genus. Birandra Santos-Silva, 2002 is used to replace Parandra sensu lato. Parandra laevis Latreille, 1804 is placed as a synonym of Attelabus glaber DeGeer, 1774. New names are chosen to replace Parandra laevis Schonherr, 1817 (= sensu auctorum) (redescribed here) and the subgenus Parandra sensu Santos-Silva, 2002, respectively: Birandra (Yvesandra) latreillei and Birandra (Yvesandra). Protospondylis Linsley, 1942 is revalidated, excluded from Parandrinae, and placed incertae sedis in the Cerambycidae. An updated list of the reallocated species is given.
TL;DR: The genus Parandra is reviewed and four genera are recognized and the probable synonymy between P. cubaecola Chevrolat, 1862 and P. (P.) cribrata Thomson, 1861 is discussed.
Abstract: NOTES AND DESCRIPTIONS ON PARANDRINI (COLEOPTERA, CERAMBYCIDAE, PARANDRINAE). The genus Parandra is reviewed and four genera are recognized: Parandra Latreille, 1804, Neandra Lameere, 1912, stat. nov., Archandra Lameere, 1912, stat. nov. and Acutandra gen. nov. The genus Parandra is subdivided in two subgenera: Parandra (Parandra) s. str. and Parandra (Birandra) subgen. nov. The geographical distribution of P. (P.) laevis Latreille, 1804 is commented and the probable synonymy between P. cubaecola Chevrolat, 1862 and P. (P.) cribrata Thomson, 1861 is discussed. New species described: P. (P.) tavakiliani from Puerto Rico and P. (Birandra) mariahelenae from Jamaica. New combinations: Neandra brunnea (Fabricius, 1798), Neandra marginicollis (Schaeffer, 1929), Archandra caspia (Menetries, 1832), Acutandra punctatissima (Thomson, 1861), A. degeeri (Thomson, 1867), A. murrayi (Lameere, 1912), A. araucana (Bosq, 1951), A. ubitiara (Santos-Silva & Martins, 2000), all from Parandra. Keys to genera of Parandrini, subgenera of Parandra and American species of Parandra and Acutandra are added.
TL;DR: In order to maintain nomenclatural stability, an application to the Commission should be submitted to reject the first valid type species designations of the following genera.
Abstract: Several nomenclatural and bibliographic issues relating to Cerambycidae are discussed. Authorship of Parandra is attributed to Olivier (1803: 100) and the type species of the genus is Attelabus glaber DeGeer 1774 by monotypy. This implies several nomenclatural changes in the current classification of the New World Parandrini. Parandra laevis Latreille 1804 is an unnecessary replacement name for Parandra glaber (DeGeer 1774) and so a junior objective synonym of that species. Using the reversal of precedence application, Isocerus Illiger 1801 is considered a nomen oblitum and Neandra Lameere, 1912 a nomen protectum; similarly Trestonia Rafinesque 1815 is regarded as a nomen oblitum and Trestonia Buquet, 1859 a nomen protectum. Acanthocinus Schonherr 1817 is regarded as a nomen nudum. The type species of the following genera are discussed: Acanthoderes Audinet-Serville 1835 (Cerambyx daviesii Swederus, 1787); Anaglyptus Mulsant 1839 (Leptura mystica Linnaeus, 1758); Graphisurus Kirby 1837 (Cerambyx ...

Abstract: An intensive survey for Cerambycidae of El Yunque National Forest and many of the state forests in Puerto Rico showed 49 species representing over half of the hitherto reported species from the Island. Two tribes and four genera are recorded from Puerto Rico for the first time. The description of a new genus, Pseudothonalmus Guerrero, is included. Four new species are described: Elateropsis julio Lingafelter and Micheli, Pseudothonalmus woodleyi Lingafelter, Micheli, and Guerrero, Styloleptus taino Lingafelter and Micheli, and Distenia puertoricensis Lingafelter and Micheli. The larva of Parandra tavakiliani is described. Locality data and method of collection are provided for all encountered Cerambycidae. Se describen un nuevo genero, Pseudothonalmus Guerrero, y cuatro especies: Elateropsis julio Lingafelter and Micheli, Pseudothonalmus woodleyi Lingafelter, Micheli, and Guerrero, Styloleptus taino Lingafelter and Micheli y Distenia puertoricensis Lingafelter and Micheli. La larva de Parandra tavakiliani se describe. Datos de localidad y metodo de coleccion se proveen para todos los Cerambycidae encontrados.

Abstract: Notes, descriptions, synonymies and reinstatement in Hesperandra Arigony, 1977 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Parandrinae). The genus Hesperandra Arigony, 1977, is divided in three subgenera: Hesperandra s. str., Zikandra subgen. nov. and Tavandra subgen. nov. Keys to the subgenera and species are added. H. glaberrima (Zikan, 1948) is revalidated and redescribed. H. humboldti sp. nov., from Colombia and Ecuador is described. New synonymies established: Hesperandra galapagoensis (Van Dyke, 1953) = H. brevicollis (Lameere, 1902); H. scrobriculata (Zikan, 1948) = Acutandra murrayi (Lameere, 1912). The lectotype of Parandra brevicollis Lameere, 1902 is designated.
