TL;DR: This research provides an overview of the state-of-the-art environmental impact assessment, evaluating the effectiveness of EA approaches, including risk assessment, technology assessment, and cost-benefit analysis, in cumulative environmental systems since the 1960s.
Abstract: The research on the effectiveness of environmental assessment (EA) is a milestone effort to evaluate the state of the field, including many contributors related with a lot of countries since more than two decades. In the 1960s, there was a surge of interest between modern industrialized countries over unexpected opposite effects of technical invention. The interest led to choice of approaches for assessing and prediction the impressions of technology and advancement for social and economic, state health and safety, solidity and the circumstances. These are consisting of risk assessment, technology assessment, environmental impact assessment and costbenefit analysis. In this research contribution, the authors have described the research status for environmental assessment in cumulative environmental system. This article discusses the methods for cumulative effect assessment (CEA).
Abstract: This paper examines public relations professionals and how vital they have grown to be within the music industry. ? More specifically, this thesis explores a publicist?s responsibilities in the changing industry and effective strategies that have reduced the importance of record companies in an artist?s career. The old model of doing business is rapidly becoming obsolete. ? Once the 1990s approached, the industry was more predictable. The Internet?s influence began to grow and dominate causing things to change quickly. An example of this is that artists are now able to record and distribute their own content online without the help of a major label or contracts. Achieving the milestone of a record deal is a concept that is now vanishing. The idea of being ?discovered? while paying to a small audience has grown somewhat impossible. ? The old music industry used to be all about the middleman, such as a record label, but now the middleman is rapidly diminishing. The industry needs someone who knows how to manipulate the middle machine in addition to mastering media coverage. Successful publicists should simply connect listeners to what they want and provide suggestions that they ultimately adopt. ? A s a result of declining music sales, the pressure to offer more of an experience than simply listening to an album release or worldwide tour has soared dramatically. A strong campaign or media influence can make the difference between an album or a single making the charts or not profiting without public knowledge.

Abstract: Search for answers in specific domains is a new milestone in question answering. Traditionally, question answering has focused on general domain questions. Thus, the most relevant answers (or passages) are selected according to the type of question and the Named Entities included in the possible answers. In this paper, we present a novel approach on question answering over specific (or technical) domains. This proposal allows us to answer questions such as “What article is appropriate for … “, “What are the articles related to … “, these kind of questions cannot be answered by a general question answering system. Our approach is based on a set of laws of a specific domain, which contain a large set of laws regarding the work organized into a hierarchy. We consider generic concepts such as “article” semantic categories. Our results on the corpus of Federal Labor Law show that this approach is effective and highly reliable.

Abstract: At Cornell University in the US, two Games Design courses ask student teams to create, design, code, and publish original video games. Our courses combine game theory and design with engineering communication seminars, and they are the only classes that satisfy the Technical Communication Requirement for the Computer Science major in Cornell University's College of Engineering. The instructors' particular mix of scholarly expectations and innovative course design leads to public release of some very playable and successful games while teaching intricacies of team communication. (One 2017 team game developed in the course now has over half a million downloads from Steam.) Addressing how such high-functioning teams evolve, we provide this concept paper which demonstrates how qualitative and quantitative assessments gathered systematically from team assignments, milestone documents, and online assessments from the validated CATME system (Comprehensive Assessment of Team Member Effectiveness) [1]. The limited focus of this paper looks primarily at the Introductory Games course (CS/Info 3152), sophomore level, which uses a managed code environment. By simplifying the programming environment, there is a focus on design and software engineering topics. No more than three or four students on each team are programmers, with at least two designers (including artists, UI, or level designers). Similar good results have also been seen in the Advanced Projects course (CS/Info 4152, a capstone course); students use C++ and are provided coding resources beyond an SDL cross-platform layer. Students can integrate other elements such as graphics, AI, and networking. Both classes are similar in structure and consist solely of a team-based semester-long game design project, graded at many points in the semester, and then exhibited at a public Showcase at the end of the semester. After a departmental review in 2007, these courses were revised to teach both game design and writing equally to meet the university's Technical Communication Requirement. At first glance, many people assume that a Games class integrates writing for storytelling aspects of game design. However, the documents we assign – and other communication exercises in the courses – are technical/engineering communication pieces and are framed as pre-professional writing for the students. For the communication aspect, we believe strongly in two mutually beneficial stances. The first and most important is that the documents and in-class critiques are critical in propelling the game design process forward, not just recording what has already happened. In this way, our approach differs widely from how many perceive documentation's role in technical work. The second is that document revision beyond the first draft reflects and supports the iterative and agile design process so valued in game development. Thus, these courses incorporate a writing seminar style with at least one discussion section per week to discuss and workshop documents. Two revisions of each major document contribute to a rigor cycle that is at the heart of the course. Teams must communicate to different audiences including players, potential funding partners/bodies, internal teams, managers, app stores reviewers. Importantly, the documentation is tightly integrated with the agile development cycle of the course and is not an add-on activity; this allows the instructors to address external pressures (accreditation bodies and future employer demands), internal pressures (preparing our students for work demands), and self-imposed standards (ensuring that interdisciplinary teams run smoothly while making a viable game). We begin by outlining the course structure for the Intro course specifically, but both courses use a similar development schedule. We then provide a review of recent writing outcomes for Intro and general team effectiveness (since 2016, using the CATME online team assessment system). We align course outcomes with guidelines from professional/accrediting bodies: 1) IGDA: International Games Development Agency, 2) ACM with IEEE: Joint Task Force on Computing Curricula Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEE Computer Society, and 3) the US's ABET: Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
Abstract: Abstract—Nutritional status of children of age 1 to 5 years provide an idea of nutrition of entire population. Malnutrition is a risk factor for morbidity and mortality in this age group of children. So it is a major public health problem in developing countries like India. That's why this cross sectional study on 170 children was conducted from January to June month of 2018 to find out to access the nutritional status of children of age 1 to 5 years in Sirsi village of Jaipur, Rajasthan through door to door survey. Statistical analysis was carried out by using Microsoft Excel for analyze the data. Majority of children belongs to age group of 2-3 years of age (32.3%) with male predominance (55.3% v/s 44.7%). As per mid upper arm circumference (MUAC) majority of children (93%) were in normal range and 81.2% children were found fully immunized. Although deficient intake of ten nutrients was found in 52-60% study children but among them 87% were having normal level of nutrition status (Mean ±2SD). In this study as per weight 22.94% children were undernourished (weight mean minus >2 SD) and 7.06% were in borderline (yellow or danger zone) as per MAUC. Undernourishment (below 2SD) was found significantly more (p < 0.001) in form of birth order difference (35.9%). In milestone developing simple sentence, telling a story, riding a tricycle and knows gender and full name were delayed in most of the children(>60%).

Abstract: <p>The purpose of this task is to set up a new framework for collecting good quality institutional comparative data on public services, using child care and other core public services as pilot studies. In an ealier milestone (MS96), two broad public services were selected for this pilot project: early childhood education and care (ECEC) and primary and secondary education. Data templates (‘questionnaires’) were developed for both ECEC and for primary and secondary education. Using the concept of ‘data template’ rather than questionnaire represents the notion that much value can be created to the research community by setting up a common template to which (a) existing data can be harmonised and (b) new data can be collected. This allows for making cost-effective use of national experts and creates synergies between the current pilot and existing data indicators.</p>
Abstract: This deliverable will present the overall progress of the pilots during the Preparatory Actions summarizing the actions taken as well as the progress made in every pilot with respect to the baseline. In particular, this report will contain: A description of the sensors that have been deployed at every pilot site and their location and the state of the technologies to be deployed at the pilot sites A summary of the social actions carried out and their results A review in terms of the KPIs and the project baseline following the sustainability model defined in D1.3 Pilots execution progress will be analysed along the project by 4 deliverables corresponding to the milestones of the project. Milestone Month Deliverable M2 18 D1.4 Preparatory Actions Report M3 28 D1.5 Deployment & Integration Report M4 34 D1.6 Preliminary Test Report M5 40 D1.7 Full Test Report Although the baseline of the pilots is stablished in D1.3, its updates (if necessary) will be incorporated in the progress reports, as well as any modification in the KPIs methodology defined also in D1.3. As a result of the assessment of the project progress, each deliverable will also incorporate: the lessons learnt, the updated calendars and recommendations for the coming period (or postproject period in case of D1.7).

Abstract: <p>The objective of EXCELERATE Deliverable 1.6 is to integrate the ELIXIR Tools and Data Services Registry (bio.tools) with workbench environments such as Galaxy, respecting the general trend towards the use of workflows as a preferred environment for the convenient use of tools and data access, especially when resources must be used in combination with one another. The ELIXIR EXCELERATE proposal envisioned integration in two ways: <br>
A Workbench Integration Enabler service to develop the vision “register your software once - enable its support everywhere”. The idea, technically, is to translate the description of any tool or service that is registered in bio.tools, into the metadata format required by the existing major workbench environments. In so, doing, the cost ofmaintaining quality tool description for us in workbench environments is lowered, giving a practical boost to tool interoperability.<br>
A utility for en masse registration of services from Galaxy instances. In the context of a generic registry for bioinformatics software, such as bio.tools, Galaxy instances constitute a major source of valuable content (online services and underlying tools). The idea is to provide a sustainable means to harvest this content.</p>
<p>We have made major strides in delivering this functionality, having published two papers with a third in preparation:<br>
Ménager, H., Kalaš, M., Rapacki, K. and Ison, J. (2016). Using registries to integrate bioinformatics tools and services into workbench environments. <p>The first article (Ménager et al.) outlines the general strategy behind the Workbench Integration Enabler service, scopes the problem, and provides the technical groundwork. The second (Hillion KH et al.) is a poster summarising progress thus far in implementing this service and the basis for a publication in preparation. The third (Doppelt-Azeroual et al.) describes a utility for en masse registration of services from Galaxy instances, which has been applied to the registration of services from the Galaxy instance hosted by Institut Pasteur, as described in D1.2 report.</p>

Abstract: OUAnalyse (http://analyse.kmi.open.ac.uk) is a project piloting machine-learning based methods for early identification of students at risk of failing. We primarily focus on identifying students who are at risk of not submitting (or failing) the next Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA). This has been identified as a proxy for the possible future student failure and also a close milestone to focus in case an intervention is needed. The predictions are generated weekly and the students with their risk of failure are available in the dashboard to the Course tutors and Module Chairs to consider appropriate support. The predictions and other supportive information within the dashboard support the course users in better understanding of their students. In my talk, I will describe how we generate the predictions, which data we use and also describe our current work on the Personalised Study Recommender.

Abstract: Considered nowadays a milestone among some pianists’ repertoire, Franz Schubert’s Sonata in B flat Major is not only remarkably long and complex in structure, but also full of details that make this piece worthy of a deeper study. Nevertheless, the Sonata was only re-discovered by the Russian School of the 20th Century, establishing a very specific performance practice of it that was not concerned with historical approach. This paper aims to analyze different sources from Schubert’s time, as well as contemporary articles about the subject, in order to get as close as possible to the original ideas of the composer.

Abstract: The acquisition of counting is a major milestone for children. A central question is how children’s non-verbal number concepts change as they learn to count. We assessed children’s verbal counting knowledge using the Give-N task and identified children who had acquired the cardinal principle (Cardinal Principle Knowers, or CP-knowers) and those who had not (Subset-Knowers, or SS-knowers). We compared their performance on two tests of nonverbal numerical cognition. We report comparable performance between SS- and CP-knowers for matching and tracking small sets of objects up to four, but disparate performance for sets between five and nine, with CP-knowers outperforming SS-knowers. These results indicate that the difference between CP- and SS-knowers extends beyond their knowledge of the verbal number system to their non-verbal quantitative reasoning. The findings provide support for the claim that children’s induction of cardinality represents a conceptual transition with concurrent, qualitative changes in numerical representation.
Abstract: Over the last 20 years, open access repositories have been implemented around the world and are now fairly widespread across most regions. Repositories provide open access (OA) to research publications and other materials and enable the local management and preservation of research outputs. They are a key infrastructure component supporting the growing number of open access policies and laws, the majority of which recommend or require deposit of articles into an OA repository. OA repositories are increasingly connected through thematic, national and regional networks.

Abstract: A series of quality problems of Chinese-manufactured products in 2007 was a major crisis in China and attracted extensive international attention. As the chaos gradually settled down, many questions remain, for instance: does the issue have a long-term impact on the "Made in China" label or China's national image? How much progress has the Chinese government made in handling crises after the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) crisis, the milestone that made Chinese officials recognize the importance of international public relations?
