Abstract: A marking out system for use in computer aided manufacture, the system comprising a measurement system ( 8, 4, 6 ) and a marking out device ( 2 ), the measurement system storing CAD data of a part ( 12 ) to be marked out comprising at least one marking out location, the measurement system comprising sensor means ( 4 ) and a processing means ( 6 ) and being arranged to determine the position and orientation of the part with respect to the measurement system and to establish a co-ordinate frame of reference allowing the position and orientation of the part to be related to the stored CAD data, the measurement system being further arranged to determine the position and orientation of the marking out device relative to the part to enable the marking out device to be positioned in a predetermined position relative to the part such as to allow the part to be marked in a location corresponding to the at least one marking out location.
TL;DR: In this article, a cross-slide is guided at the unit column vertically to the Z axis, and at least two jointed arms are arranged between the crossslide and the tool, with a measurement transmitter assigned to each jointed arm and connected with the electronic evaluation unit.
Abstract: In the height measuring device, a cross-slide is guided at the unit column vertically to the Z axis. A marking out, measurement or scanning of the workpiece is undertaken across a suitable electronic evaluation unit and corresp. tools. At least two jointed arms are arranged between the cross-slide and the tool. A measurement transmitter is assigned to each jointed arm and is connected with the electronic evaluation unit. At least three jointed arms are provided. USE/ADVANTAGE - Measuring and marking vehicle passenger room through doors from outside; measuring external dimensions of vehicle. Hard-to-reach measuring and marking out points can be reached; insertion in cavities is facilitated.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a traffic marking method for marking traffic lanes on paved highways and for marking out parking areas and the like, which relates to traffic marking means and more particularly to means for designating traffic lanes.
Abstract: This invention relates to traffic marking means and more particularly to means for designating traffic lanes on paved highways and for marking out parking areas and the like. At the present time, traffic lanes on curves, hills and the like are usually indicated by painted lines or by a series...
TL;DR: In this article, a marking and positioning or checking tool for finish carpentry to obtain correct reveals, particularly for wooden trim around windows and doors, is presented. The tool is sufficiently compact to readily fit inside a carpenter's pouch and can be made in differing sizes to meet the specific needs of a particular job.
Abstract: A marking and positioning or checking tool for finish carpentry to obtain correct reveals, particularly for wooden trim around windows and doors. The tool of the present invention is a handheld, preferably plastic device that assists carpenters in maintaining the reveals around windows and doors accurate relative to the jambs. To accommodate different jobs, the marking tool has predetermined measuring or marking edges and can be made in differing sizes to meet the specific needs of a particular job. The marking tool is sufficiently compact to readily fit inside a carpenter's pouch.
TL;DR: In this article, a head is driven with at least two degrees of movement over a work supporting surface, with the registration hole forming tool being driven out of contact with the work and then being driven into contact with it when at least one predetermined location is reached.
Abstract: A head (15) carrying a registration hole forming tool (4), marking out tool or mask forming tool is driven with at least two degrees of movement over a work supporting surface (2) with the registration hole forming tool (4) being driven out of contact with the work (3) and then being driven into contact with the work (3) when at least one predetermined location is reached and said marking out and mask forming tools being driven in contact with the work, with the head movements being controlled by a computer (35) through a drive function (37) connected to means for driving the head (15) over the work supporting surface (2), the computer (35) being fed with a computer programme (CRD) for registration hole forming or a computer programme for marking out and mask forming, so that registration holes (4a), marking up lines or mask forming lines are formed in the work to produce graphic material which may be used in the graphic arts such as colour or like printing processes and sign making. The head (15) is driven along a guide 14 supported on carriages (11, 12) which may be driven in unison along respective racks (9, 10).
