TL;DR: A simplified user interface for an image database management system is described in this article, which provides a menu driven system for generating a search query and a remote server generates a result containing images that satisfy the search parameters in the query.
Abstract: A simplified user interface for an image database management system is described. The interface provides a menu driven system for generating a search query. A remote server generates a result containing images that satisfy the search parameters in the query. The interface then displays the images in the result as simulated slides. A user organizes the simulated slides for a presentation by manipulating the simulated slides. The slides may be manipulated on a simulated light table or by placing the slides in a simulated slide carousel. The slides may be freely transferred among the light table, slide sleeve, and slide carousel. Handling images as simulated slides on equipment familiar to the user substantially reduces the time needed to learn how to use the user interface.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a transparency adapter for use with a scanner comprising a scanner light source, a scanner platen and a scanner lid, and a light table comprising a stationary light source separate from the scanner.
Abstract: A transparency adapter for use with a scanner comprising a scanner light source, a scanner platen and a scanner lid. The transparency adapter comprises a light table comprising a stationary light source separate from the scanner light source. The stationary light source comprises a light table operating state for illuminating transparent media for viewing and a transparency adapter operating state for illuminating transparent media while it is being scanned by the scanner, thereby creating a scanned image of the transparent media, the scanned image having an output orientation. The transparency adapter further comprises at least one mounting device on the light table to hold the transparent media in an input orientation during the light table operating state.
TL;DR: An improved toy drawing assembly is provided by a light table assembly, a pair of indexing systems along two perpendicular axes in the table assembly and selector elements and arm elements for transferring a preselected sequence of two-dimensional coordinates from a code book onto a writing material placed on the light table.

TL;DR: A portable light and table provides a caster-mounted work/storage table having an angularly-adjustable light panel attached to its table surface as discussed by the authors, which can be simultaneously adjustably directed to illuminate a work area adjacent the table.
Abstract: A portable light and table provides a caster-mounted work/storage table having an angularly-adjustable light panel attached to its table surface. One side of the light panel bears at least one work table light (preferably incandescent bulb-type) that can be generally directed to illuminate the table surface, and the other side of the light panel bears at least one work area light (preferably fluorescent bulb-type), which can be simultaneously adjustably directed to illuminate a work area adjacent the work/storage table.
TL;DR: In this paper, a light table work station is provided for use in combination with a transparent prototype circuit board, where at least a portion of each circuit trace on a circuit board is viewable when the board is populated with components.
Abstract: A light table work station is provided for use in combination with a transparent prototype circuit board. At least a portion of each circuit trace on a circuit board is viewable when the board is populated with components, and back lit when the board is positioned on the work table, and each trace is also accessible from each side of the circuit board for examination, testing and/or modification. A work station is provided with a second upstanding light table for retaining transparent artwork sheets, each sheet bearing a copy of the circuit traces for each respective circuit plane on the circuit board.
