Abstract: A message dispatch system is provided for a multi-computer server having a number of server computers connected via respective server network links. The message dispatch system, which is connectable to an external telecommunications network, includes a message dispatcher configured to receive external client requests for the multi-computer server from the external telecommunications network and to dispatch the client requests to selected server computers via the server network links. The message dispatcher is configured to determine a server to which an external client request is to be dispatched in response to parameters representative of message traffic volume on the server network links. Load balancing is performed based on parameters representative of the server network link loading, rather than, or possibly in addition to measurements on processor loading. Suitable network loading parameters can be derived by monitoring packets passing from and/or to the individual server computers. The monitoring can be performed in the dispatcher, or in a switch or a separate traffic monitor between the dispatcher and the server network links, for example.
TL;DR: In this paper, a network switching apparatus, a server system and a server migration method for the server system are provided which can perform server migration easily, where a physical server, a virtualization mechanism, a network switch apparatus having a plurality of ports and a management server connected to the switch apparatus for managing the server migration process.
Abstract: A network switching apparatus, a server system and a server migration method for the server system are provided which can perform server migration easily. The server system has a physical server, a physical server having a server virtualization mechanism, a network switching apparatus having a plurality of ports and a management server connected to the network switching apparatus for managing a server migration process for using a migration destination virtual server as the physical server of a migration source, wherein the management server has a migration mechanism for transmitting setting information to be designated to the plurality of ports to the network switching apparatus during the server migration process, and the network switching apparatus changes settings of the plurality of ports in accordance with the transmitted setting information on the plurality of ports.
TL;DR: In this article, various techniques for allowing non-secured clients to access secured data of an enterprise from a public network without compromising security integrity of the enterprise are disclosed, where the interface server is analogously placed in a "Demilitarized Zone" and referred to as a DMZ server.
Abstract: Various techniques for allowing non-secured clients to access secured data of an enterprise from a public network without compromising security integrity of the enterprise are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a server, referred to as an interface server, is designated to interface with non-secured clients and coupled between a private network and a public network. The server can be one of local servers in a security system employed in an enterprise. In certain respect, the interface server is analogously placed in a “Demilitarized Zone”, hence also referred to as a DMZ server. Through the DMZ server, some of the secured data in the enterprise can be accessed by the non-secured clients without compromising the security integrity of the enterprise.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a method and system for seamless roaming of a mobile node during a VPN session, where the mobile node is established and synchronized with at least one fail-over VPN server in the network.
Abstract: Described are a method and system for seamless roaming of a mobile node during a VPN session. A VPN session between the mobile node and a current VPN server in a network is established and synchronized with at least one fail-over VPN server in the network. An address change message is sent to the current VPN server and the fail-over VPN servers upon roaming of the mobile node. A fail-over VPN server responds with a reply message and is registered as a current VPN server for continuation of the VPN session. To load balance, a load query message is sent to the current VPN server and the fail-over VPN servers. Reply messages include server performance characteristics of the VPN servers. The VPN session can be transferred from the current VPN server to a fail-over VPN server in response to the server performance characteristics.
TL;DR: In this article, a security administration server (S) providing various security services in the LAN and a host server operating in connection with the LAN is provided, and an image is generated by extracting information useful for security management of the LAN from collected log information and visualizing such information to a form easy for a person to use.
Abstract: A security administration server providing various security services in the LAN and a host server operating in connection thereto are provided There is installed a security administration server (S) having a function for collecting various log information managed in various devices to be monitored (C) operating in the LAN, a function for generating an image by extracting information useful for security management of the LAN from collected log information and visualizing such information to a form easy for a person to use, and a function for sending the image to another monitoring device (C) Further, the security administration server (S) provides various security services in connection with a host server (H) operating in an external network
