Abstract: AIM:To study the chemical constituents of Iris ca thayensis Migo.METHOD:Following extraction with 70% alcohol,the chem ical constituents of Iris cathayensis Migo were isolated by the silica gel c olumn chromatography and further purified by recystallization.RESULT: Nine compounds w ere isolated from Iris cathayensis, six of which are flavonoids.Based on th e physical properties and spectral data,six structures of them were identified a s tectorigenin(Ⅰ),irilone(Ⅱ),5,2′-dihydroxy-6, 7- meth lenedioxyflavanone(Ⅲ), dihydroechioidinin(Ⅳ), t ectoridin(Ⅴ)and irisoids A( Ⅵ).The others were elucidated as heptadecanoic acid(Ⅶ ),daucosterol(Ⅷ) and stigmasterol(Ⅸ).CONCLUSION:All of the nine co mpounds were iso lated from this plant for the first time,and compound Ⅳ was isola ted from Iris for the first time.
