TL;DR: Analyses of extracts from whole-plant samples revealed that Garrya flavescens and Garrya wrightii produced gutta ( trans -1,4-polyisoprene) as the major hydrocarbon in yields of 1.2 and 0.4 %, to be the first species of Garryaceae reported to produce gutta.
