Abstract: Hepialidae (ghost moths or swifts) are, in terms of diversity and distribution, the most successful group of homoneurous primitive moths. The morphology of Fraus is described in some detail with emphasis on the adult moth, and a new interpretation of hepialid male genitalia is presented. Beyond describing and illustrating a primitive hepialid, these observations are intended to serve as reference for the study of the classification of Hepialoidea and lower Lepidoptera.In the taxonomic revision, based on more than 3000 specimens, the 25 Fraus species are described and diagnosed. The adult moths, as well as male and female genitalia, are richly illustrated, and distribution maps and flight period diagrams are provided for all species. The biology, behaviour, distribution and phylogeny are summarised and discussed.

Abstract: Afrotheora, a new hepialoid genus from central and southern Africa, is described. There are eight species of which seven are named. Three were described previously, but were assigned to other genera (Dalaca rhodaula Meyrick, Eudalaca jordani Viette, and Hepialus thermodes Meyrick - a new senior synonym of Hepialus pardalias Janse). Four new species are named and described (minirhodaula, argentimaculata, flavimaculata and brevivalva). A further new species is described, but is not formally named. All species and their genitalia are described and illustrated. Three new combinations and one new synonymy are established, two lectotypes are designated and Hepialus ptiloscelis Meyrick from South Africa is transferred to Gorgopis Hubner. The monophyly of Afrotheora is recognized by the possession of two unique characters: (1) long bristle-like setae from the antennal scape reaching almost across the compound eye, and (2) the trulleum in the male genitalia comprising two lateral sclerotized rods separated by a membrane. Afrotheora represents one of the 12 hepialoid basal lineages currently thought to be monophyletic, and it is demonstrated that the new taxon is not subordinate to any other of these hepialoid clades. Its relationships are briefly discussed, but its exact affinities await further studies of hepialoid phylogeny. The term 'primitive Hepialidae' is here applied to four genera: Fraus Walker, Gazoryctra Hubner, Antihepialus Janse and Afrotheora. We use 'Hepialidae sensu stricto' to refer to the remaining genera of the Hepialidae sensulato (i.e. the Hepialidae of authors) until the phylogeny of the Hepialoidea is better understood. This does not indicate that the primitive Hepialidae are monophyletic while the Hepialidae sensu stricto undoubtedly are.

Abstract: The relevance of fraus legis – a falsely presented state of affairs – both in internal and private international law, and particularly within recognition procedures, has not been undisputed throughout the years. And in the midst of integration or close cooperation arrangements it might seem that the institute of fraus legis would definitively lose its interest due to an “unshaken” mutual confidence in the activity of other public authorities. This is however not the case, as demonstrated by European Union law where both legislative and case law examples show the renewed importance of such truthfulness or veracity requirement. Bearing this is mind, the present article has a dual purpose: the first aims to describe the legal concept of recognition in its diversity and richness. As an aggregating factor we will subsequently turn our attention to the “internal structure” of that concept and to the conditions or requisites it is dependent upon. One of such conditions is precisely the control of veracity of the act or situation that aims to be recognised by the receiving State.

Abstract: Mobile click fraud is a type of attack where an adversary deceptively generates click events on mobile applications in pursuit of revenue. Conventionally, the attack is carried out by automating a massive number of physical devices. However, purchasing the devices incur substantial costs. A cheaper alternative to the physical devices is emulators. However, existing emulators are inefficient and vastly blocked due to their immense resource demand and defective device signatures. In this paper, we propose Fraus1, a cost-efficient and scalable approach to conduct largescale click fraud using device emulators. Fraus maintains a low resource profile by circumventing graphics emulation and applying lazy-loading techniques on system components. Besides, Fraus provides a seemingly authentic device signature and disguises itself as a legitimate device by fully emulating the missing hardware components including WiFi interfaces and cellular modems. To facilitate the management of numerous emulator instances, Fraus also offers a distributed management system, which is scalable and fault-tolerant. We evaluate the performance of Fraus by mocking attacks against the top 300 applications from the Google Play store. The results demonstrate that Fraus has high system stability and application compatibility. It also significantly reduces CPU usage and memory footprint up to 90% and 60% respectively compared with the existing emulators.1In Roman mythology, Fraus was the goddess or personification of treachery and fraud.
