Abstract: We report the synthesis, properties, and biological applications of Ratio-Peroxyfluor-1 (RPF1), a new ratiometric fluorescent reporter for hydrogen peroxide. RPF1 is comprised of a two-fluorophore cassette, where the spectral overlap between coumarin donor and fluoran/fluorescein acceptor partners can be controlled by the chemoselective peroxide-mediated deprotection of boronic ester pendants on the acceptor dye. RPF1 features good selectivity for hydrogen peroxide over a variety of reactive oxygen species, including superoxide and nitric oxide, a ca. 8-fold increase in fluorescence intensity ratio (λ517/λ464) upon H2O2 reaction, and excitation and emission profiles in the visible region. Experiments with viable yeast mitochondria show that RPF1 can monitor and quantify endogenous production of H2O2, establishing the potential utility of this approach for probing peroxide biology in living systems.

Abstract: Compositions containing a polymerizable, curable or crosslinkable component, a photoinitiator, a fluoran colorformer and a latent activator that releases or promotes the release of a Lewis acid, will become insoluble and change color under the influence of actinic radiation. These compositions are particularly useful to make dry film photoresists, which are widely used in the electronics industry to manufacture printed circuits.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To exhibit excellent water resistance, plasticizer resistance, oil resistance without providing an overcoating layer made of aqueous soluble polymer compound and to increase the usability in a wider utility by specifying a compound used as a coloring dye and its mixture ratio. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive coloring layer which contains normally colorless or pale coloring dye and developer coloring in contact with the colorant is provided. It is not fluoran lactone compound which is normally used. 2,2-bis(4-(6'- N-cyclohexyl-N-methylamino)-3'-methylspiro(phthalide-3,9'-xanthene)-2' -ilamino) phenyl)propane and normally colorless or pale fluoran colorless dye having anilino group at a position 7 of fluoran skeleton are contained, and the mixture ratio of coloring dye represented by a formula I is 10wt.% or more of the coloring dye. In this case, a heat-sensitive recording material in which excellent preservation of water resistance, plasticizer resistance and oil resistance are remarkably improved is obtained.
