Abstract: Delayed caching receives an evaluation interval to delay updating the objects stored in a delayed cache, delays a time period corresponding to the evaluation interval, and updates the objects stored in the contents of the delayed cache when the time period delay has completed. The configuration operation for the delayed cache selects a time interval to sample a trace having object access frequencies for objects stored in a cache, creates a first working set of objects accessed during the time interval and a second working set of objects accessed during a subsequent time interval based on the historical trace, determines that the difference between the objects contained in the first and second working sets does not exceed a maximum threshold with the selected time interval, and sets a evaluation interval for evaluating the contents of the cache to the selected time interval.

Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and apparatus of left ventricular pacing including automated adjustment of a atrio-ventricular (AV) pacing delay interval and intrinsic AV nodal conduction testing. It includes—upon expiration or reset of a programmable AV Evaluation Interval (AVEI)—performing the following: temporarily increasing a paced AV interval and a sensed AV interval and testing for adequate AV conduction and measuring an intrinsic atrio-ventricular (PR) interval for a right ventricular (RV) chamber. Thus, in the event that the AV conduction test reveals a physiologically acceptable intrinsic PR interval then storing the physiologically acceptable PR interval in a memory structure (e.g., a median P-R from one or more cardiac cycles). In the event that the AV conduction test reveals an AV conduction block condition or if unacceptably long PR intervals are revealed then a pacing mode-switch to a bi-ventricular (Bi-V) pacing mode occurs and the magnitude of the AVEI is increased.

Abstract: A method is provided for automatic adaptation of process controller parameters according to the requirements of a non-linear process in order to achieve optimum control action. This method evaluates the response of a measured process variable to upset in the form of a change in set point or load. The upset initiates the adaptation procedure, which determines evaluation intervals related to process dead time and lag characteristics as evidenced by the response of the measured variable over predetermined portions of said upset; the deviation in the measured variable from set point or related demand reference is examined over the evaluation intervals and preferably integrated, the integrated error result being indicative of a required proportional gain change in the case of one type of evaluation interval and indicative of a required reset gain change in another type of evaluation interval. Proportional and reset gains are altered in accordance with this procedure until the gains are optimized as evidenced by maximum conformity to the demand references of the measured variable response to upsets generally.

Abstract: The absolute frequency of the $^{87}{\rm Sr}$ clock transition measured in 2015 was reevaluated using an improved frequency link to the SI second. The scale interval of International Atomic Time (TAI) that we used as the reference was calibrated for an evaluation interval of five days instead of the conventional interval of one month which is regularly employed in Circular T. The calibration on a five-day basis removed the uncertainty in assimilating the TAI scale of the five-day mean to that of the one-month mean. The reevaluation resulted in the total uncertainty of $10^{-16}$ level for the first time without local cesium fountains. Since there are presumably no correlations among systematic shifts of cesium fountains worldwide, the measurement is not limited by the systematic uncertainty of a specific primary frequency standard.
