Abstract: The complex of parasitoids attacking larval stages of Epermenia chaerophyllella in Britain is outlined, and the host range of each of the species recorded (three braconids and four ichneumonids) is discussed. ‘Ecological’ factors, such as the behavioural similarity of unrelated hosts during the vulnerable parts of their life histories, seem to have been important in the evolution of the host associations of several of these parasitoids, even though they are koinobionts. A new species, Triclistus epermeniae Shaw and Aeschlimann, is described.
TL;DR: In this paper, the genitalia of Epermenia wockeella and E. vartianae were described and illustrated for the first time, and new distributional data for 11 species and new life history data for 5 species were given.
Abstract: species of Epermeniidae are recorded from the territory of the former USSR. Two of them (Epermenia wockeella und E. vartianae) are recorded for the fi rst time. New distributional data for 11 species and new life history data for 5 species are given. The genitalia of the male of E. wockeella and female of E. vartianae are described and illustrated for the fi rst time.
TL;DR: A study of 216 specimens of Tineidae, Acrolepiidae, Douglasiidae, and Epermeniidae establishes 73 first country records, three first records apart from the type series, one first record for Europe, and one firstrecord for the Nearctic region.
Abstract: Abstract. A study of 216 specimens of Tineidae, Acrolepiidae, Douglasiidae, and Epermeniidae establishes 73 first country records, three first records apart from the type series, one first record for Europe, and one first record for the Nearctic region. Infurcitinea iberica sp. n., Infurcitinea Corsica sp. n., and Tinagma asymmetricum sp. n. are described as new species. A lectotype is designated for Tineola macropodella Erschoff, 1 874, which is a new synonym ofPararhodobates syriacus (Lederer, 1 857). Infurcitinea romanica CapuÖe, 1966, hitherto a synonym of Infurcitinea olympica Petersen, 1958, is reinstated as a valid species. The taxon kirghiztana Zagulajev, 2002, described in Fermocelina, is transferred to Reisserita. The author of Reisserita zelleri is Zagulajev, 1992, not Caradja, 1920.
TL;DR: The study of some of the so called "Microlepidoptera" families, the Tineidae, Epermeniidae, Acrolepiidae and Douglasiidae at the collection of the ZFMK brought some species of taxonomical and faunistical interest to light.
Abstract: The study of some of the so called "Microlepidoptera" families, the Tineidae, Epermeniidae, Acrolepiidae and Douglasiidae, at the collection of the ZFMK, brought some species of taxonomical and faunistical interest to light. Two species are described as new: Reisserita zouhari sp. n. (Tineidae), and Epermenia (Epermenia) dalianicola sp. n. (Eper- meniidae), and the type-material of the four families, represented in this collection, is listed and commented. Keywords. Tineidae, Epermeniidae, Acrolepiidae, Douglasiidae, new species, type material.
TL;DR: The previously unknown male of E. criticodes Meyrick, 1913, is described, and a checklist of the Epermeniidae of the Afrotropical Region is provided.
Abstract: Two new genera (Africepermenia and Mesepermenia) and ten new species are described: Africepermenia tanzanica, Mesepermenia malgachica, Epermenia minuta, E. griveaudi, E. maculata, E. meyi, E. brevilineolata, E. malawica, E. mineti, and Ochromolopis pallida. Two new combinations are proposed: Gnathifera proserga (Meyrick, 1913) comb. nov., and Ochromolopis ithycentra (Meyrick, 1926) comb. nov. Temelucha Meyrick, 1909 and Temeluchella Fletcher, 1940, are synonymized with Ochromolopis; Ochromolopis praefumata (Meyrick, 1911) syn. nov. is synonymized with Ochromolopis xeropa Meyrick, 1909; and Epermenia ochrodesma Meyrick, 1913 syn. nov. is synonymized with E. iniquella (Wocke, 1867). The previously unknown male of E. criticodes Meyrick, 1913, is described, and a checklist of the Epermeniidae of the Afrotropical Region is provided.
