Abstract: Abstract Traditional cultural and creative products need to be combined with cultural connotations on the basis of traditional cultural products, and modern visual communication design laws and design theories are used as the methods to broaden the product display medium and extend the product value. In this paper, we first sort out the cultural connotation of cultural and creative products and the design and development motives and explore the specific implementation path of cultural and creative product design based on visual communication design. Secondly, it studies the extraction of visual elements of traditional cultural and creative product patterns by the SURF image feature extraction method. Firstly, it realizes the acquisition of styling visual elements by the Canny operator in the edge detection algorithm. Then it acquires accurate color visual elements based on the K-Means primary color extraction algorithm improved by the contour coefficient method. In the traditional cultural and creative product design examples, it is found that the average Dice conventional culture coefficient image extraction based on the SURF method is 0.731, and the structural similarity of primary color extraction reaches 0.792 with the original image of traditional culture. Traditional cultural and creative products have a comprehensive evaluation score of between 4.3 and 4.5, which indicates high satisfaction. Carrying out the design of conventional cultural and creative products with visual communication design, its central performance is in visual attractiveness and formal innovativeness in order to burst the vitality of traditional cultural and creative products.

TL;DR: Hydrogen corridors in Europe focus on strategies and countries involved in implementing a low-carbon economy through hydrogen energy. The EU and other countries have set import targets for hydrogen and require research and policy initiatives to identify trading partners. The development of hydrogen energy corridors involves international transport and logistics chains, new transport and logistics structures, and networks and transport nodes.
Abstract: The European Union and other countries worldwide have identified fossil-free hydrogen as a key resource for implementing the transition to a low-carbon economy. The European Commission, which had already emphasised the importance of the hydrogen economy within the Green Deal Industrial Plan, has recently quantified the import target for 2030, 2024, and 2050. Unlike oil and gas reserves, renewable energy and green hydrogen have numerous potential producing or supplying countries; therefore, identifying trading partners requires several research and policy initiatives and the adoption of both technoeconomic and political criteria. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prospect for the development of future hydrogen energy corridors and how European states are organising their political and transport strategies. These strategies design international transport and logistics chains that include the entire hydrogen value chain (production, export, storage and consumption). A new transport and logistics structure is expected for the energy distribution of this vector. Networks and transport nodes will be substantially involved in anticipation of an increase in demand for this type of energy carrier, both in the vicinity of ports, due to industrial demand, and within ports, for the transport and storage of this resource, assuming the increasingly central role of energy hubs and making their role more and more complex, going beyond the classic connotation of intermodal nodes.

TL;DR: The semantic proximity criterion is an effective method for identifying "toxicity" in social networks. Cosine similarity metric is suitable for conducting experiments to identify "toxicity".
Abstract: The aim of the research is to check the effectiveness of the method of automatic identification of “toxic” comments of users in social networks based on semantic proximity. The article carries out a linguistic analysis of examples of “toxic” behavior, defines the criteria of “toxicity” and the main lexical and stylistic features of “toxic” texts. The analysis of the latest works on the topic gives a general idea of the current methods of identifying “toxicity”. A solution for identifying “toxic” comments based on the idea of the lack of semantic proximity between the text of the post and the “toxic” comment is tested. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the work proposes for the first time to use the criterion of semantic proximity to identify “toxic” comments, which is a fairly simple and effective solution. Moreover, such studies have not been conducted earlier within the framework of the most popular Russian-language social network VKontakte. As a result of the research, it was found that determining the semantic proximity between a post and a comment is a fairly effective way to determine the relevance of a comment and, consequently, its probable “toxic” connotation. It was also found that the cosine similarity metric is suitable for conducting experiments to identify “toxicity”, but to improve the results, it can be supplemented with other machine learning methods.
TL;DR: This study explores innovative approaches to enhance the sustainability of Basic College Mathematics Course teaching by integrating fuzzy set methods to cultivate students' innovative abilities and extend their thinking boundaries.
Abstract: In the Basic College Mathematics Course (BCMC) teaching, the contents are generally based on two-valued logic; however, fuzziness is commonly presented in real life. This leads to the insufficient cultivation of students’ innovative abilities, which constrains the expansion of students’ scientific thinking boundaries and, furthermore, the sustainability of course teaching. First, from the perspective of continuous effectiveness of course content in students’ subsequent learning and research, the connotation of sustainability of BCMC teaching was discussed. Then, based on the analysis of the basic methods of fuzzy sets, their role in cultivating students’ innovative abilities was explored. Next, focused on the three common BCMCs, namely, advanced mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, and linear algebra, the specific teaching concepts and ideas were designed by integrating the fuzzy set methods. Finally, the exploratory teaching mode and approaches of integrating fuzzy set ideas into BCMCs were proposed. The proposed teaching approach helps to extend learners’ thinking boundaries, thereby providing support for cultivating students’ innovation ability and enhancing the sustained effects of course teaching. This study can also provide references for other course teaching.
TL;DR: This study develops a semiotic model to investigate sensory metaphors in architectural photorealistic rendered images and actual constructed buildings, analyzing similarities and differences in user experiences and connotations to understand their impact on mental attitude and user perceptions.
Abstract: Photorealistic rendered images are the visuals of an architectural project which is not constructed but its design process is completed. They are presented to society and clients to represent what the building will look like. These images are typically presented to the public as a marketing strategy. In this regard, the photorealistic rendered images are pre-imaging of the actual constructed building. However, it is important to understand if these two mediums (dimensions) are semantically connoted same or different. Therefore, this research aims to analyse and understand these possible similarities and differences. It aims to reveal the metaphoric differences in terms of “architectural experiences” by a developed model in semiotics which is based on analysis of user experience’s systematic codification. In conclusion, this paper develops a research method that aims to demonstrate the connotation differences and it discusses how the mental attitude can be affected. In this regard, it explains how the representations of photorealistic renders create positive but misleading user experiences.

TL;DR: The critical discourse analysis of the two Persian translations of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame based on Farahzad’s translation quality assessment model (2009) investigates the ideological implication and manipulation conveyed in translation text. The study examined the two translated texts by Parsayar and Mohebi, focusing on the ideological implication at the micro and macro levels. The findings revealed some ideological manipulation of the target text, including the manipulation of tone pitch, verb choice, and cultural references.
Abstract: The current study attempted to examine the two translated texts by Parsayar, and Mohebi, that is, the Persian translation of the Novel, Hunch back of Notredame by Victor Hugo. This study was performed based on Farahzad’s (2009) dimensional model of CDA. The process followed the strategies of Venuty, Ivir, and the study employed strategies, under the theoretical framework, the model of Farahzad, to examine ideological implication, and manipulation conveyed in translation text. To this end, researcher zoomed the corpus, picked the lexicons, structure, phrases and verbs. To this end, four-chapters of the novel were randomly selected for the current study. The researcher got into them precisely to unveil the burden of ideological implication of words, phrases, even specific cultural bond as Farahzad called it micro level. The case was followed by other level called macro, the area of socio-cultural and political issue. Based on this point of view, the two translators used the specific translation strategies. The commonly used ones, by Mohebi (2016) were substitution, domestication, and addition in a discursive and connotation way. In parallel, Parsayar (2022) had focused more on denotation and aesthetic texts. The study tried to unveil the ideological implication at the level of the degree of excitement, tone pitch, and appropriate verb and noun that befit to their own position in the context. The findings revealed some ideological manipulation of the target text, the manipulation resulted from external, and internal variables including social standing, religion, and some extracted based on unsuitable translation strategy. Ultimately, the findings of this study have some implications applicable not only in the political and cultural aspects, but they can also be utilized for teachers and students in translation studies.
Abstract: Abstract This research investigates the strategies used by fansubbers to translate English culture-bound expressions into Arabic. It further investigates the functions of swear words and how the fansubber regenerated their functional connotations. The corpus of the study consists of English subtitles and Arabic fansubs of the Bad Boys movies. The researchers analyzed the data both quantitatively and qualitatively. The frameworks adopted in this research are the strategies proposed by Diaz-Cintas and Remael and the classification model of swear words presented by Ljung. The findings showed that the fansubber rendered the culture-bound expressions using seven strategies, the most dominant of which is omission at almost 37%. Other strategies varied in their percentage with: transposition, second-most utilized at 29%, followed by explicitation (25%), calques (8%), loanwords (0.2%), lexical creation (0.5%), and compensation (0.13%). The results showed that these strategies were sometimes wrongly used due to the lack of guidelines for fansubs. On the other hand, the dominant function of swearing used in the movie is the standalone one. Noticeably, the connotation of functional elements was often neglected by the fansubber. Thus, the fansubs were sometimes lacking in accuracy. Finally, the current research provides some implications and recommendations for translators when handling culture-bound expressions.
