TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors reviewed the evolutionary vein of Industry 5.0 and three leading characteristics of Industry5.0: human-centricity, sustainability, and resiliency, and constructed a tri-dimensional system architecture for implementing Industry 5, namely, the technical dimension, reality dimension, and application dimension.
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper discussed the scientific connotation of balanced regional development, and invokes sustainable development theory to argue that we should pay attention to the differences in resource endowments among regions, and solve the imbalance among the economy, humans, and nature to promote the spatial balance of regional development and green development for better coordination between economy and ecology.
Abstract: Large regional differences and uneven regional development are fundamental challenges for China. Balanced regional development is an important issue in research on development geography. This study reviews the course of balanced regional development in China and summarizes its characteristics in each period. The results show that inter-regional development in China has undergone successive periods of balanced and unbalanced development. Each period has enhanced social development and contributed to a more balanced regional development. This paper discusses the scientific connotation of balanced regional development, and invokes sustainable development theory to argue that we should pay attention to the differences in resource endowments among regions, and solves the imbalance among the economy, humans, and nature to promote the spatial balance of regional development and green development for better coordination between economy and ecology. The balanced promotion of the well-being of people in each region is the ultimate goal of balanced regional development. We then use concepts from development geography to examine China’s path of balanced regional development from the three perspectives of society, the economy, and ecology. Suggestions are also provided for the balanced development of China’s regions and the improvement of public well-being.
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper established an evaluation index system for the high-quality development level of China's economy based on the new development concept of "innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing".
Abstract: From the perspective of economics, high-quality economic development is a concept that is not easy to grasp. How to quantify high-quality development is also a relatively complex topic. The combination of economic growth and development is high-quality economic development, reflecting the core connotation of the modern economic system. It is of great significance to measure the quality of economic development and study its influencing factors. Based on the new development concept of “innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing”, this paper establishes an evaluation index system for the high-quality development level of China’s economy. Then, the principal component analysis method was used to measure China’s high-quality economic development level and that of each province in China. Combined with high-quality development’s meaning and essential features, we can correctly judge the regional economy’s specific situation of high-quality development and analyze the results of high-quality economic development from the perspective of time series and spatial evolution. Based on this, we further explore the main factors that influence the level of high-quality economic development. Finally, some feasible suggestions are put forward to improve the quality of China’s economic development and promote the completion of economic transformation. The main contribution of this paper is that the use of principal component analysis can reduce the dimensional and order-of-magnitude differences between the indicators. In this way, we can better measure the high-quality development level of China’s economy, analyze its main influencing factors, and provide new possible paths for China’s economic transformation.
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors evaluated the effect of China's EC construction by the target correlation and system coupling aspects from national five-year plan and EC connotation of China perspectives.
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the research progress of the overall optimization of "production-living-ecological" space (PLES) systematically, and found that the existing work mainly focused on the optimization of PLES from the perspectives of land-use quality, land use suitability evaluation, resource and environmental carrying capacity, and comparative advantages.
Abstract: The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the optimization of territorial space development patterns as the primary measure of ecological civilization construction, and put forward the goal of “promoting intensive and efficient production space, livable and moderate living space, and beautiful (picturesque scenery) ecological space”. Through literature research and summing induction, this paper combs the research progress of the overall optimization of “Production–Living–Ecological” space (PLES) systematically. It is found that the existing work mainly focuses on the overall optimization of PLES from the perspectives of land-use quality, land-use suitability evaluation, resource and environmental carrying capacity, and comparative advantages. However, due to the lack of understanding of the scientific connotation of PLES, and the imperfect construction of quantitative identification methods and classification system, there are many problems in the technical approaches of the overall optimization of PLES, which remain to be clarified. In the future, the technological approach to the overall optimization of PLES should be guided by the vision of building a beautiful China, with the theory of a human–Earth coupling system as the core, and systematically build a theoretical system and technical framework to identify and optimize territorial space.
TL;DR: In this paper , the meaning of the Palang Pintu procession in terms of semiotics was analyzed using extra-qualitative research methods with an interpretive approach as a complement.
Abstract: The Palang Pintu tradition is a tradition that is part of the Betawi wedding ceremony. In this study, the semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes was used. This study uses extra-qualitative research methods with an interpretive approach as a complement. This linguistic research is classified as interpretive research because it relies on interpreting texts that can be related to the context in it, such as ideological, moral, cultural, and spiritual values. In this study, the researcher aimed to analyze the meaning of the Palang Pintu procession in terms of semiotics. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that in Palang Pintu, there are 1) meanings of denotation in the procession of the Palang Pintu, processions are starting from the dustur prayer, greetings, rhyme contests, fighting, and reciting the holy verses of the Koran or chanting sike. In the denotative meaning of this Palang Pintu process, apart from explaining the literal meaning and describing the process. It also describes the stages of testing for the groom to marry his bride; 2) the connotation meaning in the Palang Pintu procession describes the practice of the teachings and laws of Islam and love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW and family ties; and 3) the myth in the Palang Pintu procession is that there are Betawi solid community principles, namely recitation, prayer, and silat. In addition, the dominance of solid Islamic teachings is evidenced by the existence of relevant verses of the Koran and hadith and the content of Betawi cultures, such as rhyming, where rhymes are used to advise on traditional art ceremonies.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors narrow down the connotation of Web3 by separating it from high-level controversy arguing and focusing on its protocol, architecture, and evaluation from the perspective of blockchain fields, identifying all potential architectural design types and evaluated each of them by employing the scenario-based architecture evaluation method.
Abstract: Web3 is the most hyped concept from 2020 to date, greatly motivating the prosperity of the Internet of Value and Metaverse. However, no solid evidence stipulates the exact definition, criterion, or standard in the sense of such a buzzword. To fill the gap, we aim to clarify the term in this work. We narrow down the connotation of Web3 by separating it from high-level controversy argues and, instead, focusing on its protocol, architecture, and evaluation from the perspective of blockchain fields. Specifically, we have identified all potential architectural design types and evaluated each of them by employing the scenario-based architecture evaluation method. The evaluation shows that existing applications are neither secure nor adoptable as claimed. Meanwhile, we also discuss opportunities and challenges surrounding the Web3 space and answer several prevailing questions from communities. A primary result is that Web3 still relies on traditional internet infrastructure, not as independent as advocated. This report, as of June 2022, provides the first strict research on Web3 in the view of blockchain. We hope that this work would provide a guide for the development of future Web3 services.
TL;DR: In this article , the authors introduce the basic connotation and theory of development geography research, and clarify its primary indicators and core approaches to provide solutions for regional development, and the application in regional development research under globalization is proposed.
Abstract: Development Geography is a branch of geography which studies the socioeconomic development of different countries and regions worldwide. Its related research provides informative ideas for promoting regionally coordinated development. This study introduces the basic connotation and theory of Development Geography research, and clarifies its primary indicators and core approaches to provide solutions for regional development. Finally, the application in regional development research under globalization is proposed. It is considered that the systematically integrated geography paradigm highlights the advantages of Development Geography in regional development research. As a result of its “differentiation characteristics-diffusion state-convergence mode”, an important theoretical basis and methodological paradigm are provided to explore the features of regional development. Since the development gaps among regions exist long throughout the world, Development Geography research ought to focus on new characteristics and challenges of regional development, to provide a theoretical basis for synergy management of sustainable development goals and international cooperation. This contributes to high-quality regional development.
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors define the connotation of the traditional village space gene, which refers not only to a space combination model, but also the basic inheritance unit of the sustainable development of traditional villages.
Abstract: Traditional villages are the place where national culture is nurtured and inherited. Due to the acceleration of urbanization, the protective exploitation of traditional villages is an urgency in many regions of the world. Under the perspective of the “Space Gene”, we define the connotation of the traditional village space gene, which refers not only to a space combination model, but also the basic inheritance unit of the sustainable development of traditional villages. We further propose the Quantitative Inheritance System Model of Traditional Village Space Genes, which reveals the logic behind the formation of traditional village material forms and builds a quantitative index system for traditional village forms. We take Shibadong Village as an example to prove the model. The results demonstrate that although the four camps in Shibadong Village belong to the same ethnic group and the same village, there are still apparent differences in morphological features. Through the model, we can turn from the “built form” research from the perspective of material space to the “deep structure” research behind it, which can provide scientific guidance for the planning and designs of traditional villages to inherit the history and culture and to protect the diversity of world culture.
TL;DR: In this paper , a new, constraint-based definition of creativity, grounded in categorization theory, and parsimonious taxonomies of constraints based on which they outline testable predictions and corroborating evidence.
Abstract: Despite their negative connotation, and the pervasiveness of blue-sky, outside-the-box thinking metaphors, constraints are at the heart of creativity. Using a multidisciplinary approach, as part of the Integrated Constraints in Creativity (IConIC) model, I propose that creative outcomes emerge from the successful leveraging of different types of constraints. I introduce a new, constraint-based definition of creativity, grounded in categorization theory, and parsimonious taxonomies of constraints based on which I outline testable predictions and corroborating evidence. I argue that constraints differ in terms of their flexibility (fixed, faux-fixed, or flexible) and functions (exclusionary or focusing), and in terms of whether they apply to the problem search time or the problem search space. Within the search space, constraints can refer to specific concepts or categories. I also advance a distinction between creativity maximizers and satisficers as a function of creativity goals, semantic networks, expertise, and the new constructs of constraint leveraging power and constraint leveraging mindset, that help to explain differences in successful integration of constraints for creativity and creative achievement.
TL;DR: This paper used fire as a central analogy to define inflammation, the better to determine how to manage it, i.e., whether to fan its flames, let it burn out, or suppress it entirely.
Abstract: In medicine, inflammation is a fuzzy, overused word first coined by the Romans, the intended meaning and precise definition of which varies according to the person and the clinical context. It tends to carry a negative connotation as a response gone awry, like a raging, out-of-control wildfire that requires immediate control and containment lest it destroy all in its path; however, frequently overlooked or lost in the shuffle is the primordial importance of inflammation to health and survival. The precise definition of inflammation matters for several reasons, not least because of the over-liberal use of anti-inflammatory drugs to inhibit inflammation, which may, contrary to prevailing dogma that all inflammation is harmful, act counterproductively to prevent restitutio ad integrum. Using fire as a central analogy, this overview attempts to define inflammation, the better to determine how to manage it, i.e., whether to fan its flames, let it burn out, or suppress it entirely.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors provide an overview of research on quantifying risks of critical minerals from two aspects: security evaluation mechanism and global value chain, and analyzes how to address the risk challenges from national strategies.
Abstract: Critical minerals are the cornerstone of the new round of the industrial revolution. The global division of labor established under the traditional technology, industry, and trade systems is facing a significant restructuring. Global economic and technological changes will lead to a long-term increase in demand for critical minerals. The critical minerals supply chain is rife with political interference and distorted trade practices compared to the robust resource demand. It faces several challenges that threaten the sustainability of the supply chain. We analyze the evolving security connotation of critical minerals supply chains. We also provide an overview of research on quantifying risks of critical minerals from two aspects: security evaluation mechanism and global value chain. The interdisciplinary research techniques and methods are more adapted to the new trends of international competition in critical minerals. The article reviews relevant security risk identification and response research in critical minerals supply chains. It analyzes how to address the risk challenges from national strategies. Finally, the article explores new trends under new technological revolution and industrial change.
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors explored the coupling coordination considering various production-living-ecological functions of land use type and its influencing factors of PLES at the county scale in China.
Abstract: Territorial space is a multi-functional complex. The coordinated production-living-ecological space (PLES) effectively coordinates the man-land relationship, promotes regional sustainable development, and maximizes territorial space. How to build a high-quality national spatial layout and support system for development has become a hot topic of concern in all sectors of society. However, few studies have explored the coupling coordination considering the various production-living-ecological functions of land use type and its influencing factors of PLES at the county scale in China. To address the gap, based on the connotation of PLES theory, this study established a classification and evaluation system for PLES and analyzed the spatio-temporal characteristics, coupling coordination degree, spatial autocorrelation, and influencing factors of PLES in China from 2000 to 2020. The results are as follows: (1) The production space index and living space index in China showed a continuous increase tendency, while the ecological space indexs decreased continuously during the study period. The production space and living space were concentrated in the east of Hu Line, and the ecological space indexes in mountainous areas were significantly higher than those in plain areas during the study period. (2) The gravity centers of PLES all migrated to the west of China to different degrees during the study period. (3) From 2000 to 2020, the basically balanced category was the main coupling coordination type, and the number of seriously unbalanced categories accounted for the least. In the west of the Hu Line, the seriously unbalanced category was dominant, while in the east of the Hu Line were the moderately unbalanced categories and above. (4) During the study period, the low-low type was the main relationship type, widely distributed in western China, followed by the high-high type, mainly situated in the North China Plain, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Jianghan Plain, Chengdu Plain, Northeast China Plain, and some provincial capital cities. (5) Regression results showed that natural factors were the main reason restricting the coordinated development of PLES, and socioeconomic factors could effectively promote the coordinated development of PLES. Landscape pattern also significantly influenced the coordinated development of PLES, but varied greatly. The findings of this study can provide a scientific reference for the optimization of territorial space layout and the promotion of high-quality development of territorial space.
TL;DR: In this paper , a humanistic perspective of GIS is proposed to better encompass the expanded category of geographic information systems (GIS) technology as well as the opportunities and challenges that go with it.
Abstract: The accelerated proliferation of geographic information systems (GIS), especially in the last decade, has greatly expanded the connotation of GIS technology from primarily a diverse suite of digital objects, representations, and devices that create or make use of geographical information to a mediated means with which we humans experience, explore, or make sense of the world. The research perspective of humanistic GIS is proposed to better encompass the expanded category of GIS technology as well as the opportunities and challenges that go with it. Deeply rooted in humanistic geography, humanistic GIS offers a coherent and systematic framework that integrates existing fragmented humanism-related GIS studies and reorients the epistemological foundation by situating GIS in its mediation of human experience. This epistemological configuration not only categorizes GIS through its embodiment, hermeneutic, autonomous, and background relations with the involved human and place but it also provides an analytical structure for examining the intertwined implications of a particular instantiation of GIS. This newly proposed humanistic perspective demonstrates a sincere quest to develop and use GIS in ways that will be more empathetic and better for humanity. Through this article, both the GIS and geography communities are called on to envision a humanistic pathway for the next chapter of GIS.
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors conducted a comprehensive review and analysis of the whole field of resilience in tourism destination research and found that the United States, Australia, China, and the United Kingdom were the primary countries involved in resilience research.
Abstract: The application of resilience thinking to tourism destination research is a new perspective on sustainable tourism and has gradually become a popular research topic. Some literature has been conducted on tourism destination resilience, but there has not been a comprehensive review and analysis of the whole field. This study was based on the literature from 2000 to 2021 in the Web of Science core collection database. The collaboration analysis, literature co-citation analysis, keyword co-occurrence, burst detection analysis in CiteSpace, and qualitative analysis were adopted to conduct a holistic tourism destination resilience research review. The results indicated that the United States, Australia, China, and the United Kingdom were the primary countries involved in tourism destination resilience research. Five hot research themes were obtained. (1) concept and connotation of tourism destination resilience, (2) drivers of tourism destination resilience, (3) sustainable management framework and practices, (4) perception of tourism destination resilience, and (5) the resilience of the tourism community. Furthermore, four research gaps and future directions were proposed in this study, including the theoretical framework of tourism destination resilience, assessment of tourism destination resilience, sustainable management and resilience, and application of advanced technology in tourism destination resilience. This study assists researchers in understanding the development and future research directions in tourism destination resilience research.
TL;DR: The concept of expropriation of the expropriators is a turn of phrase that Marx even compares to the negation of negation as discussed by the authors . But what does it mean, and is it still relevant today? Before I analyse the content of Marx's expression, I briefly consider contemporary legal understandings of exppriation, as well as some examples of it.
Abstract: The ‘expropriation of the expropriators’ is a delicious turn of phrase, one that Marx even compares to Hegel’s infamous ‘negation of the negation’. But what does it mean, and is it still relevant today? Before I analyse the content of Marx’s expression, I briefly consider contemporary legal understandings of expropriation, as well as some examples of it. In the remainder of the essay, I spell out different kinds of expropriation in Marx and focus on an ambiguity at the core of the notion of ‘expropriating the expropriators’, namely, whether it describes an immanent and objective tendency within the development of the capitalist mode of production or else actively prescribes a form of revolutionary political praxis for the working class. My answer is that it does both, though not without tension. Finally, I develop some implications of these reflections by showing how the concept of expropriation can be put to use today, in struggles around housing, climate and work.
TL;DR: In this article , an integrated review method was used to carry out bibliometric analysis and in-depth qualitative content analysis based on selecting targeted articles to deeply understand its knowledge gaps and future research directions.
Abstract: The quality of building products is vital for the safety of construction and building occupants. The application of off-site construction (OSC) has been increasing in the industry, one of the reasons being its potential for improving project quality. Yet, various quality problems have been reported, such as cracks and air pockets of prefabricated components, sleeve grouting noncompactness in key nodes, which hinders the development of the OSC sector. It is urgent to carry out quality control (QC) for OSC projects. Substantial research efforts have thus been devoted to these topics in recent decades, resulting in a certain amount of literature regarding QC for OSC. The objective of this study is to conduct a state-of-the-art review of QC for OSC projects to deeply understand its knowledge gaps and future research directions. An integrated review method was used to carry out bibliometric analysis and in-depth qualitative content analysis based on selecting targeted articles. Results show that the identified knowledge gaps include: (1) OSC lacks suitable QC rules, (2) QC means for OSC is out of date, (3) QC information technology for OSC is immature, and (4) existing limitation connotation of QC for OSC. Finally, based on the identified knowledge gaps, corresponding future research directions were suggested, including quality risk transmission control for OSC, supply chain quality management for OSC projects, BIM-based quality data management for OSC, blockchain technology and quality traceability for OSC, and performance and assessment model of QC for OSC. This research contributes to an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of QC for OSC, which offers valuable implications for the quality improvement of the OSC industry.

TL;DR: In this article , a fuzzy integrated assessment method of college students' entrepreneurial education is used to conduct an empirical study and proposes countermeasures for the quality of innovative and entrepreneurial talents cultivation in terms of creating a good innovation environment in universities and encouraging students to actively participate in various innovative and entrepreneurship activities.
Abstract: Entrepreneurial role models are the forerunners on the path to entrepreneurship for college students, and they play a significant role in influencing college students’ entrepreneurship decisions. Entrepreneurship education in schools is an important tool for college students to develop entrepreneurial knowledge, ingenuity, and abilities. The main approach of building fuzzy systems is fuzzy integrated assessment, and it has a broad range of applications, including expert evaluation systems, quality control, performance assessment, weather forecasting, medical diagnosis, economic management, and psychological measurement. This research designs a fuzzy integrated evaluation system of university students’ entrepreneurial education using the environment, teaching process, and instructors’ team as the first-level indicators on the premise of defining the connotation of inventive and entrepreneurial skills. The article also uses the fuzzy integrated assessment method to conduct an empirical study and proposes countermeasures for the quality of innovative and entrepreneurial talents cultivation in terms of creating a good innovation environment in universities and encouraging students to actively participate in various innovative and entrepreneurial activities. The experimental results show that the half confidence of the fuzzy integrated assessment algorithm is 0.657, the retest confidence is 0.991, and the standard deviation of the
α
coefficient among all the test subjects is 0.683, which indicates that it has good confidence. Therefore, the fuzzy integrated assessment method of college students’ entrepreneurial education in this study is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, which expresses and processes the subjective judgment of human in quantitative form, minimizes the drawbacks brought by personal subjective judgment, and makes the evaluation results more credible.

Abstract: Antique relics represent a part of the rich history and cultural heritage of a nation, region, or country, and serve as great inspiration for the creation of unique cultural and artistic products. This article explores the meaning of the transition from “ritual cultural features” to “modern product forms”. By elucidating the rituals (connotation) and forms (denotation) of these cultural characteristics, this article attempts to illustrate how to transform these characteristics into modern products that are tailored to meet the needs of contemporary consumer markets. The specific objects chosen for this study are the “ritual vessels” used in various ceremonial activities in ancient China. Specifically, this study discusses the form of the “ritual vessels”, the meaning of their cultural significance, and their use scenarios. Lastly, this article introduces a cultural product design model based on the relationship between “form” and “ritual”, which seeks to offer a valuable reference for designers of cultural and creative products in the design of modern products that adhere to the continuation of cultural attributes. Moreover, we hope this article will also serve as an inspiration for how designers can use their creative thinking to discover traditional cultures’ advantages.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper developed a systematic evaluation and analysis framework for urban livability in 40 major cities in China from 2005 to 2019, drawing on the panel data of 40 major city in China.
Abstract: The increasing drift of urbanization and its impact on urban human settlements are of major concern for China cities. Therefore, demystifying the spatial-temporal patterns, regional types, and affecting factors of urban livability in China is beneficial to urban planning and policy making regarding the construction of livable cities. In accordance with its connotation and denotation, this study develops a systematic evaluation and analysis framework for urban livability. Drawing on the panel data of 40 major cities in China from 2005 to 2019, an empirical research was further conducted. The results show that urban livability in China has exhibited a rising trend during the period, but this differs across dimensions. The levels of urban security and environmental health are lower than those of the three other dimensions. Spatially, cities with higher livability are mainly distributed in the first quadrant divided by the Hu Line and Bole-Taipei Line. Cities in the third quadrant are equipped with the lowest livability. In addition, the 40 major cities can be divided into five categories, and obvious differences exist in terms of the geographical distribution, overall livability level, and sub-dimensional characteristics of the different types. Furthermore, the results of the System GMM estimator indicate that the overall economic development exerts an inhibiting effect on the improvement of urban livability in present-day China, but this logical effect exhibits obvious heterogeneity in different time periods and diverse city scales. Finally, there are also differences in the influencing direction and degree of specific economic determinants.
