TL;DR: A cosmetic composition comprising of 1-70% volatile solvent, 0.1-15% silicone resin, 10-45% wax, 5-50% powder, and 1-30% oil has improved transfer resistance over previously-known cosmetics as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A cosmetic composition comprising: a) 1-70% volatile solvent; b) 0.1-15% silicone resin; c) 10-45% wax; d) 5-50% powder; and e) 1-30% oil has improved transfer resistance over previously-known cosmetics. They may be prepared by grinding some of the dry components with the solvent and resin, adding the wax and oil followed by the remainder of the dry components. When filled into suitable receptacles, the composition may be used as a concealer, blusher, eye shadow, foundation, lipstick or the like.
TL;DR: A colorimeter, webcam, camera, spectrophotometer, scanner or other instrument measures the color composition and conditions and texture of a person's body part or presented beauty product and an individual custom formulation is produced as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A colorimeter, webcam, camera, spectrophotometer, scanner or other instrument measures the color composition and conditions and texture of a person's body part or presented beauty product and an individual custom formulation is produced. A presented beauty product may include foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, primer, skin care products, blush, nail polish, hair dye, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, eye liner and eye shadow. The produced custom formulation may comprise foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, primer, skin care products, blush, nail polish, hair dye, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, eye liner, eye shadow or other consumer products. A computer system 301 includes a processor 501 and a non-transitory, computer readable medium 500 containing machine readable instructions that accept data from a colorimeter 300 or like instrument and uses a main executable program 502 and a subroutine 504 for color analysis.
TL;DR: In this article, the levels of lead in concealer, mascara, lip liner, and oil absorbent powder were found to be 7.4, 1.9, and 3.3, respectively.
Abstract: In this study, we present evidence of lead in lip liner, oil absorbent powder, mascara, concealer, lipsticks, lip gloss, and foundation. The samples were analyzed for lead by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The levels of lead in concealer, mascara, lip liner, and oil absorbent powder were found to be 7.4 ± 1.3 µg g−1, 15.8 ± 0.2 µg g−1, 29.0 ± 9.2 µg g−1, and 17.3 ± 2.9 µg g−1, respectively. The levels of lead in lipsticks, lip gloss, and foundation ranged from not detected to 73.1 ± 5.2 µg g−1, 4.7 to 11.7 ± 2.8 µg g−1, and 7.8 to 32.9 ± 1.4 µg g−1, respectively. Thus, in the majority of samples, the concentrations of lead are higher than the USFDA maximum permissible concentration of 0.10 µg g−1 in candy and cosmetics. In lipsticks alone, only 25% of 40 samples were found to meet the requirement. Therefore, continuous use of cosmetic products in which lead concentration exceeds the maximum permissible level may pose a health hazard for the female population of South Africa in the long run.
TL;DR: In this article, a computer system accepts data from a colorimeter 300 or like instrument and uses a main executable program 502 and a subroutine 504 for color analysis to derive an average color that is used to select a closest matching color from a database of approximately 20,000 interpolated colors.
Abstract: A colorimeter or other instrument measures the color composition and texture of a person's skin and an individual custom formulation is produced. A computer system accepts data from a colorimeter 300 or like instrument and uses a main executable program 502 and a subroutine 504 for color analysis to derive an average color that is used to select a closest matching color from a database of approximately 20,000 interpolated colors, the interpolated colors sometimes derived from a database of approximately 2,000 human skin colors. The closest match may also be found within a database comprising approximately 2,000 human skin colors and 20,000 interpolated human skin colors. The disclosed machines and methods then custom formulate such color to produce foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, skin care products, nail polish, hair dye, lipstick, lip gloss, blush, mascara, eyeliner eye shadow and other products.
