TL;DR: In this paper, an adjustable paddle with an adjustable joint is described, which allows for two handle sections (14, 16) to be fitted together in a desired axial and rotational positions to fix the length of paddle and the relative blade angle settings of blades.
Abstract: An adjustable paddle (A) is disclosed which includes an adjustable joint (C) which allows for two handle sections (14, 16) to be fitted together in a desired axial and rotational positions to fix the length of paddle (A) and the relative blade angle settings of blades (18, 20). The adjustable joint includes three concentric shafts (22, 24, 28; and 62, 64, 66) to provide a more rigid joint which is generally wobble-free. Preferably, the concentric shafts are fixed together by a compression lock (30). The compression lock includes an annular compression member (32) and beveled edges (38, 58, 70) affixed on the first handle section and a complimentary beveled surface (34a) on compression nut (34). Tightening of the compression nut forces compression member (32) about the shaft of the second handle section to fit the handle sections together in the desired axial and rotational position. Additionally, a cam lock (26) may also be utilized to alternately lock the handle sections together.
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of a lock mechanism and an electromagnetic brake is proposed for a door system of a transit vehicle, where the lock mechanism enables positive locking of at least one door but does not require substantial contact between moving and stationary lock elements.
Abstract: A locking arrangement for a door system of a transit vehicle includes a combination of a lock mechanism and an electromagnetic brake. The lock mechanism enables positive locking of at least one door but does not require substantial contact between moving and stationary lock elements. The lock mechanism is connected with the manual release means for door opening during an emergency. The electromagnetic brake maintains door seal compression in the closed and locked condition which improves sealing capabilities and provides for reliable lock mechanism operation. Such combination provides locking redundancy and meets various requirements regarding annunciation and manual release operation.
TL;DR: In this article, a universal dynamic compression reinforced anti-rotation intramedullary nail was used for intertrochanteric fracture, and the femoral head was accelerated.
Abstract: The utility model relates to a universal dynamic compression reinforced anti-rotation intramedullary nail. A rotating blade, a hollow compression lock screw, a movable universal joint and a main nail are connected. An anti-rotation function of the intramedullary nail is reinforced for intertrochanteric fracture. A nail entry angle of the hollow compression lock screw is adjusted by the movable universal joint; at the same time, a compression effect is exerted on a femoral head, and the healing is accelerated.
TL;DR: A compression lock with two closing points is a lock adapted to close, by compression, a door, tailgate, hatch, on two or more mutually distant closing points, by actuating a single handle.

TL;DR: In this paper, an ISOFIX child safety seat (10) consisting of a compression lock mechanism (100) that prevents movement of an arm guide (21) in conjunction with the unlocking of a lock part (30) and an attachment receiver (4) of a seat is described.
Abstract: [Problem] To provide an ISOFIX child safety seat that is safely and reliably attached without any adverse events during seat attachment. [Solution] A ISOFIX child safety seat (10) comprising a compression lock mechanism (100) that prevents movement of an arm guide (21) in conjunction with the unlocking of a lock part (30) and an attachment receiver (4) of a seat, the ISOFIX child safety seat (10) characterized in that: the compression lock mechanism (100) includes a lock piece (120) having at the tip end a protrusion (122) that does or does not come into contact with the end of the arm guide (21), and a support recess (130) which is formed in a lock bar (34) of the cord reel 30, which is provided with an opening (132) through which the protrusion (122) passes, and which accommodates the lock piece (120); the protrusion (122) protrudes from the opening (132) at the movement side of the arm guide (21) to prevent the arm guide (21) from moving when the lock part (30) is not locked; and the protrusion (122) rotates from the end of the arm guide (21) to the movement-forward side and comes to be accommodated in the support recess (130) so that the arm guide (21) is able to move when the lock part (30) is locked.
