TL;DR: An explosive composition containing an intimate mixture of 15 to 45% by weight of a particulate high explosive from the group consisg of RDX (1,3,5-trinitro-1, 3, 5-triazacyclohexane) and HMX(1,5,7-tetranitro- 1, 3.5, 5.7, 7.5), and mixtures thereof, 15 to 50% of ammonium nitrate, and 20 to 60% of ethylenediamine dinitrate, was proposed
Abstract: An explosive composition containing essentially of an intimate mixture of 15 to 45% by weight of a particulate high explosive from the group consisg of RDX (1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazacyclohexane) and HMX (1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetraazacyclooctane and mixtures thereof, 15 to 50% by weight of ammonium nitrate, and 20 to 60% by weight of ethylenediamine dinitrate; Wherein the weight ratio of ammonium nitrate to ethylenediamine dinitrate is from 1:2.5 to 1.5:1, respectively, and particularly about 1:1. These explosive compositions provide an unexpectedly high explosive output with a relatively low content of RDX and/or HMX, and an equivalent output with much less RDX than conventional explosive compositions consisting of mixtures of RDX with AN and/or TNT.
TL;DR: In this paper, a procedure for the separation and identification of the major components of the military plastic explosive composition C-4 is described, and the explosive (RDX), plasticizer, and rubber binder are separated by selective solvent extraction and filtration.
Abstract: A procedure for the separation and identification of the major components of the military plastic explosive composition C-4 is described. The explosive (RDX), plasticizer, and rubber binder are separated by selective solvent extraction and filtration, and the extracts are analyzed by multiple internal reflection infrared spectroscopy.
TL;DR: A solvent extraction process for the separation recovery of TNT and RDX from Composition B-containing munitions is described in this article, which also contains liner materials such as asphalt and binders, and sealers such as wax, each of which are also recovered by use of solvent technology.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define a reference composition A, a composition consisting of 45-55 pts. of gypsum, a high-gypsum containing composition B, and a composition of 30-33 pts.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a treating agent for making harmless and solidifying waste, flying ash and the like in order to recycle them. CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of 65-75 pts.wt. of portland cement, 23-18 pts.wt. of blast furnace cement and 12-7 pts.wt. of gypsum is defined as a reference composition A, a composition consisting of 45-55 pts.wt. of portland cement, 33-28 pts.wt. of blast furnace cement and 22-17 pts.wt. of gypsum is defined as a high-gypsum containing composition B, and a composition consisting of 30-33 pts.wt. of ligninsulfonate, 30-33 pts.wt. of calcium chloride and 40-34 pts.wt. of sodium tripolyphosphate and/or alkaline metal polyphosphate is defined as a composition C. The composition contains 97-99 pts.wt. of the composition A or B or an intermediate composition of A and B and 3-1% of the composition C. In the case compacting is possible, the composition A is used, and in the case of highly contained water, the composition B is used. In the case a lot of harmful metal is contained, the used ratio of the composition C is increased. The sum of the composition ratios is 100 pts.wt.

Abstract: A composition C-4 substitute is provided, the substitute include 2,4,6,8,10, 12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10, 12-hexaazatetracyclo(5.5.0.0?5,9,3,11?)-dodecane (CL-20), optionally one or more nitramines other than CL-20, and silicone fluid. Also provided is an additive composition including CL-20 and bis(dinitropropyl) acetal and bis(dinitropropyl)formal(BDNPA/F). The additive composition is preferably combined with composition C-4. Furthermore a method for loading a warhead case with a shapeable charge is provided using a composition C-4 substitute.
