TL;DR: Results indicated both drugs definitely produced drug dependence of the morphine type.
Abstract: Dihydrocodeinone and a new narcotic antitussive, codoxime, were compared in single doses with morphine in a crossover study to compare their ability to produce opiate-like euphoria. In addition, both drugs were substituted for morphine in 7 chronically addicted subjects to determine their capacity to produce physical dependence. Results indicated both drugs definitely produced drug dependence of the morphine type.
