TL;DR: The most parsimonious cladogram of Cidaria is selected, and its monophyly defined, and the character analysis shows that some distribution characters contribute to resolving the in group node.
TL;DR: The number of species in thegenus Protorhoe was raised from six to nine, and two species are described as new to the science from Turkey.
Abstract: We highlight the diagnostic characters of the genus Protorhoe Herbulot, 1951. Wing pattern and genitalia of all known Protorhoe species are illustrated and their distribution data are shown on maps. Cidaria avetianae Vardikian, 1974 is synonymized with P. unicata (Guenee, 1858) (syn. n.), Cidaria unicata centralisata Staudinger, 1892 is raised from subspecies (of P. unicata ) to species rank (stat. n.), and P. tangaba (Wiltshire, 1952) is transferred from Catarhoe to the genus Protorhoe (comb. n.). Two species are described as new to the science from Turkey: P. drechseli sp. n. and P. beshkovi sp. n. As result, the number of species in thegenus Protorhoe was raised from six to nine.
TL;DR: The most parsimonious cladogram of Cidaria is selected, and its monophyly defined, and the character analysis shows that some distribution characters contribute to resolving the ingroup node.
