TL;DR: The tridentigera group is one of four groups within the genus Chremistica Stal that is distributed in Southern India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Malaya, Sumatra, Kalimantan and the Philippines.
Abstract: The tridentigera group is one of four groups within the genus Chremistica Stal, 1870. Its monophyly is based upon genitalia characters. The group comprises 11 species, of which 4 are redescribed and 3 are described as new ( (C. minor, C. siamensis, C. biloba). The remaining 4 species are endemic to the Philippines and are not redescribed. A key to the males, distribution maps, a phylogenetic reconstruction and a historical biogeographic hypothesis are presented. The tridentigera group is distributed in Southern India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Malaya, Sumatra, Kalimantan and the Philippines.
TL;DR: A faunal checklist for Cicadidae in Palawan, Philippines, comprising 18 species belonging to 12 genera and five new species, Platypleura elizabethae Lee, sp.
Abstract: This paper provides a faunal checklist for Cicadidae (Insecta: Hemiptera) in Palawan, Philippines, comprising 18 species belonging to 12 genera. Five new species, Platypleura elizabethae Lee, sp. nov., Puranoides goemansi Lee, sp. nov., Purana opaca Lee, sp. nov., Dundubia dubia Lee, sp. nov. and Dundubia flava Lee, sp. nov., are described. Pomponia lactea (Distant, 1887) and Ayesha spathulata (Stal, 1870) are newly added to the cicada fauna of Palawan. Four species, Chremistica pontianaka (Distant, 1888), Tanna pallida Distant, 1906, Dundubia rufivena Walker, 1850 and Tosena fasciata Fabricius, 1787, are removed from the cicada fauna of Palawan because the records have been incorrectly documented. Information on geographic distributions is provided.
TL;DR: Adult and male genitalia are illustrated and key is given, based on for all examined species external and genitalic character.
Abstract: Malaysian species of Chremistica are listed herewith brief distributional notes. Of them are kept in repository of Centre for Insects Systematics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) namely Chremistica pontianaka (Distant), Chremistica guamusangensis Salmah & Zaidi, Chremistica nesiotes Breddin, Chremistica kecil Salmah & Zaidi, Chremistica tridentigera Breddin, Chremistica biloba Bregman, Chremistica umbrosa (Distant) and Chremsitica minor Bregman. In this paper, the adults and male genitalia are illustrated and key is given, based on for all examined species external and genitalic character. Distirbution of two species in this study are recorded new in Malaysia, namely C. nesiotes Breddin is recorded new to Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak and C. minor is recorded new to Peninsular Malaysia (restricted only in Endau Rompin, Pahang).
