Calamonastes

Abstract: Summary Contributions are made to the biology of about forty species. Among other items dealt with are parasitism in Cercococcyx; undeseribed nests and eggs, including those of Pseudoalcippe a. abyssinicus, Phyllastrephus f. placidus, Calamonastes s. simplex, Uraeginihus cyanocephalus, Cryptospiza salvadorii, and Emberiza poliopleura; removal of its own eggs by a Nightjar (Caprimulgus); care of young Klaas's Cuckoos by birds of their own species; polygamy and monogamy in the Ploceus spp.; subspecific and local voice-variation; communal nest-building in Spermestes nigriceps; the number of grass-stems comprising a nest of Pseudonigrita cahanisi.
