TL;DR: This paper describes a discussion on Bayer geometry as a color filter geometry and the facts that, using the present number of picture cells as a parameter, the Bayer geometry colorfilter array is clearly superior to the interline geometry color filter array (1) reported previously.
Abstract: A color television camera using a single interline transfer charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor having 384(H) x 490(V) cells and a green dot checkerboard pattern color filter array was developed This paper describes a discussion on Bayer geometry as a color filter geometry and the facts that, using the present number of picture cells as a parameter, the Bayer geometry color filter array is clearly superior to the interline geometry color filter array (1) reported previously This color television camera has obtained satisfactory performance for home video tape recorder (VTR) use in regard to resolution, sensitivity and color rendition
TL;DR: In this paper, a tricolor separation and photometry free of a position shift through one solid-state image pickup element, by repeatedly moving the image pickup elements in the same read area while changing color filters, was performed.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform accurate tricolor separation and photometry free of a position shift through one solid-state image pickup element, by repeatedly moving the solid-state image pickup element in the same read area while changing color filters, and thus performing color separation and photometry. CONSTITUTION:Reflected light from a color original lighted by a lighting apparatus 2 is passed through a filter turret 3 and an optically reducing system 4 to illuminate a solid-state image pickup element 5. The filter turret 3 is equipped with a blue filter 6, a green filter 7, a red filter 8, and an ND filter 9. The solid-state image pickup element 5 moves intermittently on the imaging surface of the optically reducing system 4 at right angles to the array directions of the image pickup element 5. The filters 6-8 are inserted into an optical path successively by rotating the filter turret 3 to move the image pickup element 5 repeatedly from a point A to a point D for every color, thus performing the color separation and photometry of a color original 1. Thus, one image pickup element performs color separation and photometry free of a color shift.
TL;DR: In this article, the di-mensions of filter layout patterns for the respective colors on exposure masks used for forming the color filters follow the requirement: TR < TB < TG where TR denotes the thickness of the red filter, TG represents the green filter and TB represents the blue filter.
Abstract: A solid-state imaging device has filters of the three primary colors in the mosaic filter configuration. These are stacked on a solid-state imager LSI having a plurality of picture elements each consisting of a photoelectric conversion element and a scanning element arrayed as a matrix. The di-mensions of filter layout patterns for the respective colors on exposure masks used for forming the color filters follow the requirement: TR < TB < TGwhere TR denotes the thickness of the red filter, TG that of the green filter and TB that of the blue filter. These are smaller than the dimensions of the picture elements. In par-ticular the dimensions of the filter patterns on the mask for forming the green filters are the smallest.
