TL;DR: Results of faunal analysis of the 2 families of butterflies show that in the Zoogeographic region of the world,Palaearctic-Oriental and Oriental species in either Danaidae or Hesperiidae mixedly exist here, but Oriental species is the main one, which puts up obvious transitional feature from Palaearctic to Oriental species.
Abstract: 8 species from 5 genera in Danaidae and 13 species from 10 genera in Hesperiidae were collected in Maolan Nature Reserve from 2007 to 2009,so 10 species from 5 genera in Danaidae and 37 species from 27 genera in Hesperiidae were recorded based on the collections and the former documents published.Abraximorphn,Pyrgus and Baoris in Hesperiidae are the newly-recorded genera and Parantica sita,Ideopsis similis and Euploea eunice in Danaidae and Celaenorrhinus maculosus,Abraximorphn davidii,Pyrgus maculatus,Baoris farri and Polytremis zina in Hesperiidae are the newly-recorded species in Maolan Nature Reserve.Bibasis miracula is a kind of rare and precious butterfly in China. Results of faunal analysis of the 2 families of butterflies show that in the Zoogeographic region of the world,Palaearctic-Oriental and Oriental species in either Danaidae or Hesperiidae mixedly exist here, but Oriental species is the main one, which puts up obvious transitional feature from Palaearctic to Oriental species. In the Zoogeographic region of China, the fauna in Danaidae can be divided into 5 distibution patterns and the species are mainly concentrated in Central China, south China and southwest region, the fauna in Hesperiidae can be divided into 15 distibution patterns and the species are mainly concentrated in Central China and south China. The fauna in Danaidae in Maolan Nature Reserve is in the nearest relationship with that of Guangxi and the fauna in Hesperiidae is in the nearer relationship with that of Sangzhi,Hunan by comparison.
