TL;DR: The original Schwarzer et al.'s (1994) premise that facet joint pain is never central was supported but it seemed that there were better tests that positively identified the facet joint syndrome, and that a patients drawing or statement description of central back pain would not be a reliable indicator of midline degenerative disc disease.
Abstract: AimTo find out what midline back pain means.MethodAnalysis of variance on database of 88 clinical variables collected prospectively from 1655 consultations for chronic low back pain patients.ResultsThis study showed that drawing a central site for back pain and saying that a back problem is midline often seem to be different things. It also seemed that it was more important to check whether ‘central or bilaterally equal’ back pain was induced by sagittal plane tests such as standing flexion or extension, or supine sit-ups or back arching. A subsection of this concept was provoked by lateralized testing with left or right lumbar rotation or lateral flexion causing central pain. There was also a hint that midlineness was at the milder end, and bilateral equalness was at the other more severe end of a symmetrical severity of pain spectrum.ConclusionThe original Schwarzer et al.'s (1994) premise that facet joint pain is never central was supported. But it seemed that there were better tests that posit...
TL;DR: In this paper, a back arching reminding device consisting of an elastic strap located on the back of a human body and a strap located at the waist is described. But the back arch-reminding device is not suitable for the use in the presence of children.
Abstract: The invention discloses a back arching reminding device and method based on vibromyography detection and belongs to the technical field of myocrismus detection. The back arching reminding device comprises an elastic strap located on the back of a human body and a strap located at the waist. The elastic strap is internally provided with a myocrismus signal acquisition module, a signal processing module and a signal execution module. The myocrismus signal acquisition module and the signal execution module are both electrically connected with the signal processing module. The myocrismus signal acquisition module is distributed in the elastic strap and corresponds to the human body latissimus dorsi area. The signal execution module is used for generating a vibration or sound prompt for detected back arching information. The strap structure is improved and is effectively matched with myocrismus signal detection sheets when in use, the back arching detection accuracy degree is increased, and a user can be reminded of an arching back posture in time.
TL;DR: In this paper, a knee joint pad is presented for preventing and curing cervical and lumbar intervertebral disc diseases. But the knee joints are not included in the pad.
Abstract: The invention provides a knee joint pad for preventing and curing cervical and lumbar intervertebral disc diseases. The knee joint pad comprises an L-shaped pad body comprising a horizontal section and a vertical section. The bending portion of the L-shaped pad body is provided with a groove and an elastic pad is disposed in the groove. The cross section of the horizontal section is concave in shape. The upper end faces of the protruding portions of the two sides of the horizontal section are provided with massage protrusions and armrests symmetric in position. The right end portion of the horizontal section is provided with a screw penetrating the protruding portions of the two sides and the middle groove of the horizontal section. The middle portion of the screw is provided with a movable support rod. The upper end portion of the support rod is provided with a support pad. The knee joint pad is simple in structure, convenient to use, good in prevention and curing effect and free of location restrictions. The knee joint pad enables the head and the waist of a patient to adapt to the state of squaring the shoulders and standing straightly instead of the state of bowing and arching the back, and can massage the acupoints of the legs to ease the stiffness of some joints and muscles caused by long-term bowing and back arching.
