TL;DR: In this article, a multi-channel decoder (105) decodes a first encoded multichannel audio signal to generate a first decoded multichannel signal, and then a combiner (107) combines the first decoding and the further decoding to generate an output signal.
Abstract: An audio signal processor receives a plurality of encoded multi-channel audio signals. A multi-channel decoder (105) decodes a first encoded multi-channel signal to generate a first decoded multi-channel signal. A generator (109) generates an encoded further audio signal by selecting audio encoding data from at least a second encoded multi-channel audio signal such that a number of channels of the encoded further audio signal comprising audio encoding data from the second encoded multi-channel audio signal is less than a number of channels in the second encoded multi-channel signal. Thus, a channel reduction is performed in the encoded data domain. A further decoder (111) generates a further decoded signal by decoding the further encoded audio signal. A combiner (107) combines the first decoded multi-channel signal and the further decoded signal to generate a multi-channel output signal. An exciting user experience can be provided while maintaining low complexity and resource usage.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an audio signal processor capable of attaining high sound quality in an audio reproduction system where a speaker is not arranged to face the front, even when the speaker 125 is not placed at the front.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio signal processor capable of attaining high sound quality in an audio reproduction system where a speaker is not arranged to face the front.SOLUTION: Audio signal processing parts 121, 122 perform serial processing with respect to an audio signal (a music signal) SA as an input audio signal, and obtain an output audio signal for driving a speaker 125. The audio signal processing part 121 performs correction processing with respect to the audio signal SA by a filter which realizes the inverse characteristic of an impulse response measured at the front position of the speaker 125. Thus, the speaker characteristic of the speaker 125 is corrected. The audio signal processing part 122 performs correction processing with respect to the audio signal SA by a filter which realizes the inverse characteristic of an impulse response measured at a position (a listening position) different from the front position of the speaker 125. Thus, the speaker characteristic of the speaker 125 at the listening position is corrected. Consequently, even when the speaker 125 is not arranged to face the front, high sound quality is attained.
